Maybe the Government will bail them out too ?
Harrington was as useless as tits on a mule.
The current owner has won just one playoff game in nearly 50 years.
Maybe Rush can buy the team.
I agree with you about Al Davis. He and Jerry Jones, the owner of my favorite team, the Cowboys (who will prolly lose today) are the pimples on the backside of of the NFL, IMO.
I wonder if John Gruden is negotiating with any of the players for next season.
I’m glad I quit watching them 15-20 years ago. I haven’t had a bad Sunday since. Life is GRRRREAT!
(last time they won a title, I was a 7-year old kid.)
Cowboys might as well be 0-16 with this performance today. Pathetic.
All they had to do is win - at home - with the season on the line - Phillie is kicking Dallas’ butt. Oh well at least Tampa and Detroit can argue who had the worst season ever ...
I was thinking of something somewhat along those lines. Instead of the Detroit Lions the team could be renamed as the Detroit Bailouts.
The Detroit Yugos
I'm not a sports guy and don't know much about football.
This is bad, right?
lol
For the season Detroit has given up an average of over 32 pts/gm and over 170 yds rushing/gm. Also for the season the defense as a team had exactly..(drumroll).. 4 interceptions. Those stats are absolutely horrific. What did they do in the offseason?
They need to go out into the street and sign the four biggest fattest guys they can find and teach them all offseason how to fill a gap. And then they need to draft a hard hitting run stopping safety with adequate speed to cover over the top.
That should get them to at least three wins.
Fire Marinelli’s son-in-law as well. The defensive coordinator.
Thanks for the link. Very interesting.
Maybe they should make them play the Cleveland Browns, just to be sure.
If the Detroit Lions were an investment firm, top management would be in line for multimillion dollar bonuses now ;-)
Congress needs to act immediately and move the top four players from every NFL team to the Lions in a bailout. Congress, after all, is good at bailing things out and in their wisdom could no doubt solve the Lions' troubles.
At this point I wonder if the Lions could even compete in the old XFL league.
They had Bill Parcells to help them, though.
That goes without saying. I mean how can they possibly justify keeping him on?
Despite improving their record last season to 7-9 they actually have progressively gotten worse on overall defense each year with Marinelli as coach and his son-in-law as Def Coordinator. And after this season they obviously need to blow up that defensive unit.
