Caylee's Skeletal Remains Don't Offer Many Clues to Her Homicide (duct tape might!)
FoxNews.com ^ | December 20, 2008

The skull and bones found last week in a wooded lot outside Orlando, Fla., were identified as Caylee Anthony's on Friday, and Orange County officials declared the little girl was the victim of a homicide.

How the 2-year-old girl was killed remains a mystery. Orange County medical examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia reported that the skeletal remains were Caylee's, but the only clue to her death was that her bones didn't suffer trauma.

"They are not intact. They are all disarticulated. They are completely skeletonized," Dr. Garavaglia said. She said some of the bones were "tiny."

Caylee was two months shy of her third birthday when she vanished in June.

Garavaglia said Caylee's remains, which were found not far from the home where she lived with her mother and maternal grandparents, were identified through nuclear DNA analysis.

The news caps a five-month search for the girl, who was last seen in mid-June but wasn't reported missing by her mother until a month later. The mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, is behind bars without bond and charged with her daughter's murder.

Thanks.

Perhaps the following can shed some light on the issue. I haven't actually checked any of it yet.

Hair drug testing:

Yahoo search results for "drug testing" + "hair":

We still don't know who Caylee's father is (Casey claims he was killed in an accident but won't reveal the name--given her track record for honesty it's quite possible he is still alive), and the paternal grandparents may be alive and not even realize that Caylee was their granddaughter.

Given her track record, she probably doesn't know who the father is.

How ironic that Dr. “G” was the forensic pathologist involved. I watch her show all the time.

I thought she looked familiar.

The judge you claim will “throw it out” is the same judge that already quickly wrote a search warrant for the Sheriff’s Dept. to do another exhaustive search of the home after the remains were found and way before DNA said they were Caylee. Because items found with the remains linked back to the Anthony home.

The judge that issued the search warrant will most likely not be a judge that presides over the case when it goes to trial. If Fl is like Ohio, a rotating judge is on-call to issue warrants.

I hope she is as good as the show portrays her to be.

with boy-friend Tony Lazaro, but he said he wouldn't take the “rug-rat” in as well.

Reminds me of Susan Smith...... and the future boyfriend who would not take in the kids as well.....

I can’t understand how a mother can put a boyfriend before her own child.

I’m interested to learn more about the utility worker who first reported the remains in August and then discovered them again last week. How is that explained?

There has been some speculation that she may have used chloroform to put the child asleep before she went out partying. She may have given her enough to kill her.

Believe me, I think she is guilty as sin. But who knows if it was intentional or not.

I'm just sayin.

And if she had done it before, traces of the chemical (or others?) might show up in the hair and bone marrow samples.

He apparently didn't know for sure what was in the bag the first time. I have no idea how he knew the second time, or how he 'rediscovered' it when taking a wiz. There apparently was also some flooding at that location between the two discoveries.

She might be able to narrow the father down to a half-dozen or a dozen possibilities, but perhaps some of them were guys she never got to know well enough to learn their first names. Or it could be someone she met at a party and didn’t even remember the next morning that she had slept with him.

Thanks for the link... I’m home on winter break right now, otherwise I’d look it all up in the handouts we got in my forensics course, but I looked aroud the Wikipedia link and it says drugs (and probably any other chemicals or substances) would take two weeks to get into hair. As far as chloroform specifically, it’s not something your standard forensic toxicology test looks for, although I don’t know whether that’s because it’s not easy to detect, or because there are many more easily accessible (through prescription or on the street) drugs that have a similar effect.

He phoned them three days in October.

No. He made calls on August 11, 12 and 13.

I am now aware of that. (I was corrected further down the thread.)

They had the recordings of his phone calls on Fox News last night. After hearing them, I am no longer suspicious of the guy.

Thanks for your reply. I don't believe the meter reader had anything to do with Caylee's death. If a deputy erred in following the August tips, valuable criminal evidence had to be lost. Consider the condition of poor little Caylee's body then compared to the December 11 finding.

While the defense team may view this possible police error as a plus for them, I wonder how they'll get around the "smell of death" in the car Casey used.

I’m not up on this case, but my mother watches the shows about it on television, etc., and tells me what she knows and/or thinks about it.

She called this morning with a few questions to ask on one of the threads - hoping that someone might know the answers.

I told her I would ask, so here goes:

George and Cindy marriage date?

Is Lee George’s son, but not Cindy’s?

Is Casey Cindy’s daughter, but not George’s?

I told her that I thought I remembered reading someone’s post here, that Casey is not George’s biological daughter, but that I don’t know the answers to the other questions. Appreciate your time...thanks.

I’m not sure of their wedding date, but they were married in Warren Ohio. George is an ex LE, left the force after having a disability claim (bad knee), worked with his father for a brief stint selling cars (until he got into an argument with his dad and shoved him thru a plate glass window), George then tried to start a car lot of his own which failed. They moved to Florida in 89. Both Casey and Lee are their biological children.

Now with Caylee, there’s so many rumors going around regarding who her father is; some think it’s Lee (doubtful) and Cindy claims Caylee’s father died in a car accident.

Thanks. I’ll pass the info along to my mother. : )

This is such a horrific story, and that seems to be one messed up family. Very little that would come as a surprise after so much convoluted misinformation.

Poor, precious, baby girl. So sad, but, she is thankfully safe in eternity.

I agree with you regarding this family; it’s dysfunction junction!

For a mother to kill her own child, then to pile on the out in left field lies she told to cover it up (the nanny story, working at Universal) shocked so many in this country when first reported. Our hearts went out to the poor grieving grandparents until they began marching in front of every TV camera in support of their daughter’s lies (and showed anger at those who refused to believe the story). They pointed fingers at so many other innocent people, yet never once at their own daughter (instead Cindy called Casey a “victim”). They turned a garden hose on protesters, threatened them with hammers and a baseball bat, and confronted them almost daily. They got on TV and several internet outlets to bad mouth TES and Tim Miller, and chastised the public for not doing enough. Yet these grandparents never once put any effort into looking for that darling child other than selling tee shirts and buttons and asking for donations to help with “the search”. Cindy even admitted in an email to their former spokesperson that she gave LE the wrong hairbrush when they requested Caylee’s brush (and laughed to someone else that she should have given LE the toothbrush she used on her dog instead of Caylee’s.

Last week their lawyer announced they were willing to help LE and tell the truth (which should have been done on day 1 IMHO); but they’ve lied so much who’d ever believe them. Now it comes to light in November their PI was filming in the same woods for 2 days several hundred yards from where the body was later found 3 weeks ago.

Caylee is in a safe place now, and home with her Father; but in this world I hope there’s justice. They need to lock the entire family up in my opinion!
