Here's my list:
Robert Plant/Allison Krause
Lucero (the rock band from Memphis, not the Mexican diva)
Thad Cockrell
Alejandro Escovedo
Nick Lowe
Bad Livers (Danny Barnes rules!)
Richard Thompson (fantastic musician, too bad he's such a leftist)
Roan Mountain Hilltoppers
Jerry Douglas
Wayne Hancock (will be seeing him on Dec. 27)
Rock & Roll PING
Were’d you see them?
The Beatles
Gerry Garcia Band
Moby Grape
Jimi Hendrix Experience
Janis Joplin
Frank Sinatra
FMCDH(BITS)
Danny Barnes, Mark Rubin, and Bob Grant. They were spectacular. We need more tubas in music.
What were you taking when you saw them? ;}
Aaaarrrrrg, Jones Beach Theater!!!! I was a touring audio engineer for about 20 years and I used to dreed that shed. I can’t really give a reason why except the strong fish smell that shows up as the sun goes down.
My most memorable experience there was at a hair band fest I worked in the late 80’s. Sorry I won’t name names, but there’s this amazing guitar player from Sweden who’s playing that day and who is notoriously arrogant and just a pure pain in the A to work with. He pushed enough of the crews around that day so we had a group kidney tap meeting, about 15 of us, in his beer/soda cooler while he and his guys were getting ready to go on stage.
Looking back on it now, it was funny to get him, but the rest of his band, and crew, were pretty decent people, and some have gone onto big things.
Van Halen
Eagles
Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas
Black Crowes
Metallica
Police
Michael Buble (with the wife)
Willie Nelson
Highlights upcoming for January 2009:
AC/DC
Cheech and Chong (not a musical act per se but a live performance)
I won 2 tickets to La Boheme opera in San Francisco when I called into the classical music station I was listening to & had the right trivia answer. But I don’t like opera, so I gave the two tickets to my wife’s uncle who loves opera.
My lovely spouse is loopy for Michael Buble, so we went to his recent show in Baltimore. The guy’s got talent. Impressed me.
The Beatles
Gerry Garcia Band
Moby Grape
Jimi Hendrix Experience
Janis Joplin
Frank Sinatra
You attended concerts by these acts in the past year?
-——I saw The Old 97’s for the 1st time this year and they were better live then I could ever imagined——
LOL, that’s pretty incregible.
Good show, he played most of his big hits only a few “new stuff” and the Chuck Berry cover “Johnny B. Good” (to show off how talented his guitar player was..... wow!).
Great musical ensemble, the Hollywood Bowl is a great venue, Brian's voice aint what it used to be but he knew it and faded out on the difficult notes (and he had supurb back up).
All in all a great time was had by all.
I saw “The Church Basement Ladies” which is a musical. Does that count? ;)
Does “Larry The Cable Guy” count? ;^)

Actually, Geddy Lee was complaining that night that the stage there is just too damn big.
Your list isn’t lame at all. With your band, do you sing, play an instrument or both?
Went to see Plant and Krauss for my B-day. simply ~amazing~
