Well, he’s telegenic, but I fear he’s a RINO. Someone like Gingrich would be much better on pushing conservative economic ideas with conviction, clarity and no waffling. Sick of RINOs.

do you have any info on where/when he was strongly supporting Palin? I’ve never read/seen anything along those lines. On the other hand, didn’t Dawson have some very strong words of support for Palin during the campaign?

Ken Blackwell got my vote. Michael Steele previously said, or hinted at it, I can’t remember which, saying that he supports a ban on assault rifles.
But I wouldn’t mind if Michael got it considering all the stuff he went through in the run for Senate.

I have seen no statement from Steele on his strong support of Palin.

The only one whose support of Palin I'm sure about is Dawson and he's got a severe image problem were he to be elected.

Based on what I know so far, Ken Blackwell is the man IMO.

I heard him on Bill Bennett’s MiA when he filled in. Steele had great praise for her from what I remember. He did not have an automatic knee-jerk reaction against her like many DC/power structure republicans seem to be having.

Steele conveys conservative principles quite well, imho.

Palin's strongest supporter on the RNC (that actually has a vote) is probably Morton Blackwell from VA (no relation to Ken Blackwell). Morton served in Reagan's 1st administration, is president of the Conservative Leadership Institute, and has been very influential in the party for over 20 years.

Watch who he supports. As of a few days ago, he was uncommitted but had sent out a very detailed questionnaire to the candidates.

Steele thinks gun ownership is a hobby. He has no problem with gun bans.

I don’t know if he’s a RINO or not but he’s on Hannity’s show too often. I’m tired of seeing Republicans making nice nice all the time with these libetards.

Michael Steele on Gun Control

No ban on guns; focus on enforcement instead

Q: Your views on gun control?

A: My views are pretty much in line with the governor’s. I grew up under some of the strictest gun control laws in the country. You can have all the gun control laws in the country,

but if you don’t enforce them, people are going to find a way to protect themselves.

(Huh?)

We need to recognize that bad people are doing bad things with these weapons. It’s not the law-abiding citizens, it’s not the person who uses it as a hobby.

Q: Should people have access to buy assault weapons?

(true assault weapons are already banned due to onerous taxation et al. Does he even understand the faulty verbiage used here?)

A: Society should draw lines. What do you need an assault weapon for, if you’re going hunting?

(life, property protection in addition guarding against tyrannical government, maybe)

“That’s overkill.”

(Uhhh. . . Deal-Breaker - it does sound like a complete misunderstanding of the 2nd Amendment.)

But I don’t think that means you go to a total ban for those who want to use gun for skeet shooting or hunting or things like that But what’s the point of passing gun laws if we’re not going to enforce them? If you want to talk about gun control, that’s where you need to start. We’ve got 300 gun laws on the books right now. At the end of the day, it’s about how we enforce the law.

Steele will help us “steal” some black and minority votes. It will be very difficult for the Obama Machine to attack Steele. Palin/Jindal/Steele a formidable core conservative team that is hard to beat. Will appeal ro Blue Collar/Red Necks/Black/Asian votes.
