Scientists have found a quick way to turn cheap plonk into something pleasantly drinkable. With a burst of electricity, a young acidic wine can be rapidly aged, creating something more mellow and aromatic. So promising are the results, that no fewer than five wineries have invested in the technology which could allow them to get their wines into the shops faster and cut the costs of storage.

I heard that was pretty good? Ever tried? I like Barefoot wine. Their pinot grigio and sparkling wines are excellent, at 4.99 and 8.99 respectively.

Their Merlot is truly superb.
I love a merlot that is very, very dry and loaded with tannins, it is wonderful with a pasta dish or a roast beef.
And at 4.99 a bottle, that stuff is a steal! I’ve been seriously considering getting a case or two to put in the basement for 2012!!

I thought the Chinese improved the taste of their wines by adding melamine to them.
