And another thing, if you are trying somehow to act young, remember Conservatives generally have a grasp of the English language.
So try and say something like : I have $40 and would like to buy my 60 year old mom a gift and do not know what to choose. I need help picking out something nice.
Rather than trying and acting dumb, it just make you look like a liberal.

Help her with little chores you know she hates to do...
Turn the TV, video game, etc off.
Sit down with her and listen to her tell you stories of her youth.
Write her a poem.
Frame pictures that you know she loves...of your family, of you.
Clean you room, the kitchen, the entire house.
Spend each hour of each day with her as if it were the last......
Spend time with her.

Go to one of those As Seen on TV stores. I know your mom, she's nice people. Pancake puff makers are very popular. You can fill them with cheese, hamsters, floor lint -- anything. They're good eating, and the food they make is good too.
Cheese stretcher, maybe?
