Didn't see one posted from GOP Raider so here we go!
NCAA Divsion II CHAMPIONSHIP: Minnesota-Duluth (14-0) vs. NW Missouri St.(13-1)
Saturday, the Bearcats play for the NCAA title for the fourth consecutive year in a showdown with unbeaten Minnesota-Duluth in Florence, Ala.
Northwest Missouri (13-1) has won two national championships, but the last three years have delivered heartbreak. The Bearcats lost those title games by a total of 12 points, becoming the first school to lose the final three consecutive years.
Minnesota-Duluth (14-0) is playing in the final for the first time, after losing first-round games in 2002 and 2005
NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (I-AA) semifinals
Richmond vs. Northern Iowa
Time/TV: Saturday, 4 p.m./ESPN. Surface: Artificial.
Sagarin difference: Richmond by 4.86.
The Spiders hit the road again seeking their first appearance in the final after vanquishing three-time defending FCS champion Appalachian State. Apparently, Richmond's rugged trek through the CAA, which sent five teams to the playoffs, was sufficient preparation for the postseason. It also helps having TB Josh Vaughan and his 19 rushing TDs to carry the offensive load. QB Eric Ward provides air cover and is a threat to take off himself, though he'll want to stay away from UNI DE James Ruffin and LB Josh Mahoney. The Panthers lost their only title game appearance, to Appalachian, three years ago. QB Pat Grace and RB Corey Lewis do most of the damage for the UNI attack. They must beware of Spiders CB Justin Rogers, who has three defensive TDs this season.
Friday night: Montana edges James Madison to reach FCS championship game 35-27
And last but not least who is your Heisman vote going for this year?
Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Tim Tebow, Florida
Or Colt McCoy Texas
But the Charlie "Weis-man" definately goes to THIS guy
If it’s warmer than zero it’ll be like spring break for the ‘Dogs.
FNC/Hannity had Archie Griffin on last night- the winner of two Heismans.
I think that’s a good indication of who will win the award tonight.
Tebow
If they gave the heisman to Colt it could set up a scenario where both Tebow & Colt could come back to try to win the Heisman a second time.
I think Colt’s already said he’s coming back next year.
NW Missouri St. 0, Minn-Duluth 0. 2nd Quarter
Several great candidates this year, no doubt, but Bradford has 48 TD’s and only 6 Int’s. Those numbers are incredible. Plus he set out equivalent to at least 2 games because the games were out of reach.
About Tebow, he won last year and his numbers aren’t as good this year. Does that disqualify him? It shouldn’t, but look at Jason White’s numbers the year after he won, they were even better and he didn’t even get much consideration thar year.
I know one of the knocks on Bradford is he didn’t run. He could as he demonstrated in the last 2 games. It should be a positive because he had the poise to stand, wait and deliver without making a dumb mistake. Remember only 6 int’s.
Colt may very well win it next year on sympathy grounds, so tonight may be Tebow’s last shot.
Tebow will have to do it next year, because I don’t think he will win tonight.
Fine with me if he doesnt win.
The CFB withdrawl period starts to creep in today.
Is that Pam The Man Ward announcing the game on espn2? She’s the worst- absolutely unlistenable.
I have to balance that with the idea that it’s the only game on...
Will Michigan still be selling out the Big House next year?
Those two have alot in common. Both hae similar values.
Griffin was impressive on the show. He credited having a great family (his parents specifically) and a belief in God as the main reasons he never lost his focus in spite of his fame. He is well-grounded and very personable.
(However, it appeared he may have been an Odumbo supporter, though it wasnt directly addressd.)
Yes Archie Griffin is the President of the OSU Alumni Assoc. and last year the alumni magazine dedicated an entire issue to global warming. They received alot of oppossing letters and to OSU's credit they published alot of those responses which of course drove the libs crazy. In the next issue they wrote letters questioning why those letters were even published. So much for tolerance.
College Football Ping—
thanks, I was just about to do that :)
Surprised he has not seen it yet.
Gop_Raider—Wake Up Call!! ;-)
Typically I don’t do a post for the Heisman trophy presentation or the FCS and D-II Playoffs, since I use this time to prepare for the Bowl games thread. But thanks anyway.
