Where is the Executive Branch on the Birth Certificate issue?
12/08/2008 | The Anti-One

I'm at a loss. Is President Bush in the tank for Obama? Does he not realize that he, the commander in chief, swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?
Why is he NOT spearheading the move to get to the bottom of Obama's Birth Certificate issue if he is NOT part of a conspiracy to destroy our society and make us all a part of his daddies "New World Order?"

Please. Help me out here.
Is President Bush really so vane and worried about his own legacy that he won't do what is right or will he go down as the last great liberal to let the Supreme Court decide America's fate.

What good is electing a leader that purportedly defends us and our Constitution abroad if he is letting our enemies destroy both the Constitution and us from within?

Inquiring minds want to know.

What would you have him do?

Check his gut and be a man! Stand up and tell the people far and wide that he will not leave until he himself has been convinced that his successor is constitutionally qualified to replace him. He's turning over the nuclear codes, for Pete's sake!

So you're suggesting that Bush announce he intends to violate the Constitution by refusing to leave at the end of his term unless the president elect proves that he isn't violating the Constitution? Makes perfect sense. </sarcasm>

We, the people, are the ones that say how we will be governed. Not some oligarchy.

We have ways of deciding that under the Constitution. The Electoral College selects the President (not "we the people") and under the Constitutionally prescribed manner have elected Obama as the next president. The question of his natural-born citizenship was raised during the primaries and many times again throughout the campaign. Lower courts chose not to even take up the issue under poor reasoning, and the Supreme Court has chosen not to review the issue any further.

Unless you are advocating some kind of insurrection against the United States, we do have to live under the laws of the land -- and abide by the rulings of the courts.

No, he just doesn't give a rat's a**. His body is in the oval office but his mind is back in Texas.

I’ve seen similar threads for the past several weeks.
Regardless of the citizenship status of whoever may or may not have been his biological father, his MOTHER was a US Citizen, and he therefore is a natural born citizen of the United States.

Well obviously I am not smart enough, nor do I have the energy to debate this particular topic with you but I will say this, if it was as cut and dry as you are making it sound no one would be questioning his citizenship. Many, many people on the right don’t see it the way you do.

It was scarcasm in that since they are throwing the cases out it must mean that they don’t care who becomes president despite what the constitution might say ...

It’s time to get over it, spare me the constitutional arguments, that document has outlived it’s usefulness it would appear as well.

The Constitution hasn't outlived its usefulness, but those people who think that it has outlived its usefulness have outlived their usefulness.

Got it.

Some of us are on a hair trigger lately. The place has been flooded with agents provocateurs from the Obama Central Disinformation Apparatus.

I get passionate about defending the Constitution and preserving the Republic, so forgive me if I sometimes venture out of bounds.

The Loyalists thought the Minutemen were “nut cases” too. Yeah, I’m a “nut case”, alright.

Defending the Constitution is nothing to be ashamed of. Defending it by advocating violating it is...puzzling.

Please...the Minutemen? You compare your keyboard commando antics to the heroism of the Minutemen? Give me a break! If you were rallying troops for a new revolution I’d be very willing to listen but to be hoping and pining for a court decision that will invalidate the election is preposterous. Government exists to continue it’s existence. the men and women who make up the governement are ALL about maintaining their power, perks and priveledges. To overturn an election would completely put their personal comfort at risk and it will NEVER happen. Never. Not ever. They are more concerned with the status quo and their personal position than they are about the Constitution.

Well, the above statement indicates to me that you've lost faith in the government, and have become solidly skeptical, which I don't fault you for at all. You've got every reason to feel that way.

My problem is with those who are on a campaign to shut down all discussion of this issue, and who tirelessly come onto these threads expressing the same negative views over, and over, and over again. They aren't adding to the conversation, and are doing nothing to advance their case that "there's nothing here".

Such people are suspect to me. I don't understand why they bother to come onto these threads if they have no real interest in the issue, or believe it to be an unworthy pursuit. What's their motivation? Why waste the keystrokes, if they can't make a case "against"? Do they think they can actually kill the discussion? Why would anyone want to do that?

You could say I'm skeptical. Look at what's happening today. Congress is set to nationalize the Big 3. They want to make Paul Volker some sort of car czar and want Congress...that collection of crooks, bankrupts, liars and thiefs, to approve any transaction in excess of 25MUSD. I never thought I'd live to see the day when we gave up on Capitalism in this country...let alone under a Republican President.

While we're all in a knot about 0's bc the country is being stolen right out from under us. It makes me sick to see how we've failed our grandchildren. They'll never know what a great country this used to be.
