Texas Tech is, to be frank, irrelevant, IMHO. They beat Texas with a last second touchdown as Texas’ fourth consecutive Top 15 Opponent. That’s what should have been considered. Instead, a team that Texas beat fooled a bunch of voters because they ran up the score for five consecutive weeks! I’m hoping that Jokelahoma gets their just desserts against Florida.

A team that CAN run up the score just might be better than a team that CANNOT run up the score.

Besides, I watched the OU-OSU game and OU definitely did not run up the score intentionally, They tried to run out the clock by keeping it on the ground, and WHAM, suddenly there’s another touchdown.

If that’s an indication of how OU finished out its other 60+ point games, then they did not intentionally run up the scores. I can’t say that for certain because I didn’t watch the other games.

One thing’s for certain, though - OU is the hottest team in the BCS at the moment. And that sells ad time, which is the real reason for all this stuff. Ad time.

Well, last second touchdowns count. I am sorry the schedule was too tough for Texas and they ran out of gas against Tech. Funny, if OU hadn't whupped Tech, the Red Raiders would have gone to the Big 12 championship and probably the national title game. If OU had lost and Texas had said to the Big 12 Commission "B-b-ut we were really tired when we played Tech - you KNOW we're better -- we deserve to go to the Big 12 championship instead!", they would have rightfully been laughed out of the room. Even if they threatened to stomp their feet and bite their pillows.

It will be an interesting bowl season - I do expect Texas to beat OSU by at least 3 touchdowns.

Now how can Tech be irrelevant but also be a top 15 opponent? You can’t count them as a top 15 who beat Texas, then say they don’t matter. Tech won, we beat Texas and that last second touchdown beat you out of the national championship game - you are just going to have to accept it.
