All UFO sightings are fake - it's official
sundaymercury ^ | Dec 4 2008

Ok, maybe it's not official, but they are all fake, read on... Birmingham and the world seems to have gone UFO mental recently, there have been sightings everywhere, all of the sightings have reported the usual 'triangle of lights', 'cigar shaped glowing crafts', Flying saucers with flashing lights and beams. Well it's all rubbish, ok that's a not a totally surprising standpoint, but I do actually have an open-mind one these things. Let me ask you a question... if all these aliens have been visiting our skies, recently and for years, they must be pretty advanced to get to our little solar system, right?

“ETI”
[EXTRA TERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE]

/Blue Oyster Cult\

I hear the music, daylight disc
Three men in black said, “Don’t report this”
“Ascension,” and that’s all they said
Sickness now, the hour’s dread

All praise!
He’s found the awful truth, Balthazar!
He’s found the saucer news

I’m in fairy rings and tower beds
“Don’t report this,” three men said
Books by the blameless and by the dead
King in yellow, queen in red

All praise!
He’s found the awful truth, Balthazar!
He’s found the saucer news

Dead leaves always give up motion
I no longer feel the motion
Where prophecy fails, the falling notion
“Don’t report this, agents of fortune”

All praise!
He’s found the awful truth, Balthazar!
He’s found the saucer news

This year is B.O.C.’s 35th anniversary.
My God, I’m old.

“Take Me Away”
[BÖC]

Strange shapes light up the night.
Never see ‘em though I hope I might.
Don’t ask if they are real.
The men in black, their lips are sealed.

Fantasy fills my mind
To leave this place before my time,
Release myself from earthly care.
My dream may be your nightmare.

I turn my hopes up to the sky
I’d like to know before I die
Memories will slowly fade
I lift my eyes and say,
“Come on, take me away!
Come on, take me away!”

Come here girl close to me
A thousand stars your eye can see
First one we see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might.

To any “World Of Warcraft” fans on here...odds are that you have unknowingly played against Eric Bloom of B.Ö.C. at some point in your life....:)

Not this time, honest!
Well, maybe the lights and funny noises accompanied by unexplained levitation, but everything else I am innocent of!

So what is fake about them? Are they not unidentified? Not flying? Not objects? What?

Looks like by 1981 they’d turned into glam rockers, which they weren’t when I saw them live in concert.

And if I’m not mistaken they were playing at a small “retro” venue here in Northern VA a few months back, at least they were on the marquis.

You mean Buck’s gold suit?

Heck, he’d been wearing that thing off and on forever.

After that he went to the white “prom suit” look and now he looks like an insurance saleman from Iowa who golfs on the weekends....:)

Probably the best show I ever saw was at a local roadhouse called Honey Bear’s in Martinsburg WV in ‘93.

Small venue, lotsa bikers and I spent the entire show perched on a Marshall stack ontsage, taking photos.

Not-so-best was 4th of July in Baker Park, Frederick MD.

Freaking poured rain most of the show and I had a hard time videotaping.

Weirdest show was in the “nosebleed” section at the [former] Cap Center in Largo, MD.
[this was back when they brought still the giant, fire-breathing “Godzilla” head on tour with them]

I was seated amongst 2 dozen or so rowdy Jarheads.
The upside was they’d brought enough beer that the Marines were able to get me up and singing and stomping along with them during the finale song, “Roadhouse Blues”.
[yes, they “let me go” after it was over]...:))

Since the early 80s, I’ve seen them at so many state fairs, festivals and seedy roadhouses I’ve lost count.

If they’re anywhere within reasonable driving distance, I go...with the exception of their last show at the Maryland Theater.

$90 for tickets to see them playing on a stage surrounded by Baroque cherubs, gilded angels and snobby theatre patrons?

I don’t *think* so....too surrealistic and out of character for me....:))

Their dates page shows them playing The Ram’s Head in Annapolis Jan 20 and State Theater in Falls Church VA, Jan. 23.

I know Ram’s Head is a “no recording” venue but State Theater, I dunno.

That’s why I prefer the festival concerts.

Yes, the only life or intelligence in the universe is here on earth...We are basically the only life in the universe...or the center of life in the universe.

If you believe this, you’ll believe anything.

Well, you must know something the rest of us don’t and are keeping it your private secret. Or are you from the government cover up crew?

Well, you must know something the rest of us don’t

I think that would be considered, "common sense".

Ya see, I do not subscribe to the idea that earth is the only planet in the universe that harbors life forms.

>>>State Theater in Falls Church VA, Jan. 23.<<<<<

Yep, I think they played State Theatre earlier this year. Leon Russell was there not too long ago.

Anyway last time I say BOC was (I think) 1975 at Cap Center, like you in nosebleed section (waaayyyyy upper right and back, I vaguely recall the view down to the stage).

But I don’t want to date myself, I was only 5 years old :)
