Rus, that is n inspiration. I do believe that it would make a great New Years resolution; to walk with God for at least 30 minutes a day. Thank you.
I hate to be cold. I remember leg warmers but I think I threw all mine away when I sold my 1975 vw bug. LOL
Sposed to be 60 here today. If it is, it’s a cold 60.
It’s snowing again here. This is unusual for our region. We normally don’t get snow until mid-Jan or even Feb.
I hear you. We’ve had snow 3 times already. NOne of it stuck, but still... This is the coldest Nov I can remember in 20-30 years.
Got my flannel lined jeans on today. :)
Nothing like playing in a creek!

Hasn’t gotten past 28 here and its been snowing and still is but nothing is laying. Just looked and there’s a little on the street.
Hey, I was lucky to keep the leg warmers. After I put them on, wasn’t long until my feet even got warm. One of these days, they will be popular again. I wouldn’t wear them out anywhere of course but for in the house, they’re terrific. Do you think I am a packrat? Guess I am because I married one. LOL! Gotta get back to my tree.
Hi Meg, Just stopped in a minute and noticed your darling graphic....so sweet! I am working on the ornaments on the tree and I just took a lunch break. Mrs. Callendar fixed me a pot pie. There is never enough gravy in them for all the crust, so I bought a tiny can of Swanson’s Chicken ala King and heated it and it was perfect. I will save the left over for toast for dinner one night.
LOL! I spent half my childhood building makeshift bridges over streams in the woods with a band of little rascals.
Nope, there’s nothing like playing in a creek.
Great idea, jaycee..I am always throwing out the crust.
I am taking a breather. Found more to clean//UGH
Its just too much crust for the little sauce. That small can does the trick. Of course, everyone doesn’t like Texas Pete like I do, but I always give my pot pie some shakes of Texas Pete. Also like T.P. on scrambled eggs and/or gravy. I do not fix gravy much. Maybe once a month.
I just about have finished the ornaments but I had to come down to take an Aleve and get a drink.
28? Yikes! Too cold for me!
It’s 57 here but it sure feels colder.
Packrat?! I thought the one who died with the most fabric wins? LOL
Me too! Still love a creek.
We went to the mountains a few years ago, near Grandfather Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad. There was a creek at the end of a parking lot one of the places we visited. I was in the creek, having a ball, when something splashed near me. I looked up and hubby was jsut grinning. “I’ve been calling you for half an hour and I had to throw a rock at you to get your attention!” LOL
I could have stayed there all day and been perfectly happy. :)
What part of the country do you live in? My daughter in N.C. has been snowed in for a week. She may not make it home for Christmas as she drives over.
Near Morehead City, right on the coast. Usually if we get a big snow that actually sticks, it comes up from Georgia and collides with a nor’easter. Most times, snow gets to the county line about 5 miles away and stops. LOL
The mountains are sooo beautiful, and my daddy’s people come from there but I don’t think I’d like to live there in the winter. :)
Up in New Hampshire there are rivers along the roads that attract swimmers all summer. It’s a real flashback to childhood.
Girl after my own heart. I love TP on everything. I love it on cooked cabbage, eggs, chili...you name it. I also love jalapenos. I grew up eating ceyenne peppers from the garden. Not many things are too hot for me.
I love wading, turning over rocks, catching crawdads and minnows and tadpoles, building dams. I spent innumerable hours of my childhood doing exactly that.
OTOH,this summer we went to Cherokee and the guys wanted to fish for trout. The trout wouldn’t bite on anything and they fiinally came to me. “Would you catch us some crawdads?” Nice to know I haven’t lost my touch! LOL
I know what you mean. My daughter lives on a mountain top near Boone. They have a mile long driveway straight up. No thanks for me. I am not a big fan of winter. It’s cold. LOL.
I lived next to a creek as a small child. We played in it all the time and came back to the house with leeches all over us. We also had Mocassin snakes. I never did learn to swim because I was afraid of water. I would wade and catch
Crawdads and minnows, but would not venture into deep water. The log bridge was part of the path home. I could run that and never lost that touch. After hubby and I married we had an A frame house on the “other” side of a creek. We had to drive through the water to get to the house, or walk the log. I could still walk the log with a basket of laundry or bags of groceries. I miss the country life.
