are you in Hawaii?**

I wish! Sorry I missed you, too. Much cooler today,cloudy but not raining, wind’s come to the NW, sposed to be 35 tonight and it’s dropping already. :( NO MORE RAIN! I practically needed a boat to get down the driveway this am.

Isn’t that a precious kitty? I wish it was mine! Why doesn’t one like that just walk up to my back door? LOL~~~

At present I have no pets, but have had every species while the kids were growing up. And may have had some I didn’t know about...LOL~~~Meg has been trying to talk me into getting a pet. I do love them but so far I’ve decided not to get one.

Could change my mind but who knows? It poured down rain all day yesterday and we were supposed to have snow this morning but didn’t get any. I haven’t finished readying for Christmas yet.....hope I finish sometime! Have a great day, G.G.!

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Pets are great—until something happens to them. I can’t take it anymore—when the two I have go, I don’t want any more, although I can’t imagine not having pets.

We’ve had “everything” too. LOL

Still decorating. #2 son’s girlfriend is great! She cooks, she cleans, she bakes, she and #2 put up the tree the other day, and decorated it! I’m keeping her! LOL

Here’s your did you know for the day:

Poinsettias are native to Mexico. They were introduced to the US in the 1700’s (?) by Joel Poinsett, the US ambassador to Mexico. They were also named for him.

LOL

Good morning, GG.

Thanks for the info on poinsettias.
It wouldn't seem like Christmas without them.

Hope you are having a better day weatherwise today.
We still have dense fog and are on a 2 hour bus delay.
We will probably take Marissa to school about 9:30.
School starts at 9:00 but kids riding buses will not get there until 10:00.
Yesterday buses were cancelled so classes were very small.

Have a great FRiday and a Wonderful Weekend.

Welcome! :)

Sun’s coming out and the temp is dropping. Guess we’re catching the tail end of yesterday’s storm as it moves up the coast.

We had fog here the other day, too. Rolled in off the ocean—literally. You could see it—looked like a fog machine stuck on high. I know Marissa’s not too upset about the delay! LOL

Michael Robartes bids his Beloved be at Peace

I HEAR the Shadowy Horses, their long manes a-shake,
Their hoofs heavy with tumult, their eyes glimmering white;
The North unfolds above them clinging, creeping night,
The East her hidden joy before the morning break,
The West weeps in pale dew and sighs passing away,
The South is pouring down roses of crimson fire:
O vanity of Sleep, Hope, Dream, endless Desire,
The Horses of Disaster plunge in the heavy clay:
Beloved, let your eyes half close, and your heart beat
Over my heart, and your hair fall over my breast,
Drowning love’s lonely hour in deep twilight of rest,
And hiding their tossing manes and their tumultuous feet.

William Butler Yeats

Michael Robartes remembers forgotten Beauty

WHEN my arms wrap you round I press
My heart upon the loveliness
That has long faded from the world;
The jewelled crowns that kings have hurled
In shadowy pools, when armies fled;
5 The love-tales wove with silken thread
By dreaming ladies upon cloth
That has made fat the murderous moth;
The roses that of old time were
Woven by ladies in their hair,
The dew-cold lilies ladies bore
Through many a sacred corridor
Where such gray clouds of incense rose
That only the gods’ eyes did not close:
For that pale breast and lingering hand
Come from a more dream-heavy land,
A more dream-heavy hour than this;
And when you sigh from kiss to kiss
I hear white Beauty sighing, too,
For hours when all must fade like dew
But flame on flame, deep under deep,
Throne over throne, where in half sleep
Their swords upon their iron knees
Brood her high lonely mysteries.

William Butler Yeats

Michael Robartes asks Forgiveness because of his many Moods

IF this importunate heart trouble your peace
With words lighter than air,
Or hopes that in mere hoping flicker and cease;
Crumple the rose in your hair;
And cover your lips with odorous twilight and say,
‘O Hearts of wind-blown flame!
‘O Winds, elder than changing of night and day,
‘That murmuring and longing came,
‘From marble cities loud with tabors of old
‘In dove-gray faery lands;
‘From battle banners fold upon purple fold,
‘Queens wrought with glimmering hands;
‘That saw young Niamh hover with love-lorn face
‘Above the wandering tide;
‘And lingered in the hidden desolate place,
‘Where the last Phoenix died
‘And wrapped the flames above his holy head;
‘And still murmur and long:
‘O Piteous Hearts, changing till change be dead
‘In a tumultuous song:’
And cover the pale blossoms of your breast
With your dim heavy hair,
And trouble with a sigh for all things longing for rest
The odorous twilight there.

William Butler Yeats

Beautiful Indiana Cardinal, Meg. Thank you.

Looking forward to “Alabama Admissions Day”. It is fun to see how the threads have evolved.

Hope you and the kitties are doing well.

As usual, I’m running late ... trying to do a little multi-tasking. Doing a poor job of hostessing, doing an okay job with the laundry, doing good with online shopping, doing fair with oraganizing the graphics for next week. And ...
Doing Great with Supporting the Troops. LOL I’m finishing paperwork so I can get 5 packages mailed today. They may be a day or two late but I’ll bet they will enjoy getting them anyway. :^ )

Thank you for another excellent selection of Christmas music.

It is so nice to be able to go about other tasks while listening to this music.

Have a beautiful day.
