Good morning. Happy Thanksgiving. There will be 11 of us around the table today. My part of the prep is almost done.
As I was coming down the stairs this AM two thoughts struck me. The first is that this is one holiday that (as well as others) that will not be taken away from thankful people. In Papua it is a regular full working day. But all the Americans (that I know about - there may be an odd stray one floating about) make preparations around their work and have a celebration and a great meal. Usually three or four families will get together and have one. The common denominator is THANKFULNESS TO GOD.
The second thought that occurred to me is that coming to my table and my kitchen today is the woman who WROTE THE RULES FOR THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND RESTAURANT KITCHENS. All public kitchens must meet the health department standards and SHE SET THE STANDARDS!!!! What was I thinking! LOL!
Jean, if you’re reading this, I love you. I’m joking.
I wanted the Raymond episode where Debra slips and slides on the floor and throws the turkey in the oven..no pan...nothing. Couldn't find it.
