Hello! How are you?
I appreciate the notes and encouragement y’all have sent me. The initial grief and saddness has lessened to a more manageable size. Thank you for your patience in letting me work through it.
Hubby and I went up this weekend to Huntsville. It was such a good trip. The only thing marring our visit there was that Lions Daughter needed her car back on Monday. So we determined to travel back Sunday night. We started at about 9:30 pm to make a 4 hour trip back home.
About half an hour above B’ham I called LD to see when she would need her car on Monday. I was thinking that if we were tired, we’d check into a hotel and finish the trip early on Monday.
Just below B’ham, I tell hubby that I’m really, REALLY tired and could we please check into a hotel. “No,” he says, “I’m fine.” So, we press on. We get into Auburn at 1:38 IN THE MORNING! I was very glad that I wasn’t driving. We would have been in the ditch. I didn’t dare sleep myself because hubby could have drifted off if someone wasn’t awake keeping him awake.
Last night I tell him that I that I was still wiped out and hadn’t fully rested yet. He sheepishly admits that the last 40 miles were pretty bad and that he almost pulled into a hotel. But he convinced himself that he could make it.
He has decided that the next time I ask to go to a motel, he is taking me to a motel. We’re just not as young as we used to be.
SO GLAD to see you back here.
I know that hubby and I do a bit of traveling around the southeast but I didn’t realize how much. I needed a potty break and was kinda a bit hungry. So, I got hubby to stop at an Arby’s which is in a convenient stopping place for us. I went in, and THEY KNEW MY ORDER! LOL! I don’t even live in that town.
Jim, I finished my food shopping today. It was a bit on the crowded side. I was thinking of you. I hope your schedule isn’t too bad.
Good point about the need to stop to rest..an excellent reminder for this travel time of year, too. (((Jemian)))
So glad to have you back and so glad you arrived home safely.
