I know there was a 'memo' the other day about limiting vanity posts, but I had a question that Freepers could best answer....
Is "anysoldier.com" a legitimate organization? The soldier I had been sending things to is safe at home now, but I can't seem to get the address of anybody else he knows that's overseas. I have a bunch of stuff ready to go, but nobody to send it to. Anysoldier.com came up first on a google search, but I am wary of just picking a random charity group.
If you know anything about this organization, or if you know of another that could put me in contact with a serviceman/woman overseas, that would be great. Thanks!

I just returned from my fourth tour in Iraq this summer. This lady sent out all kinds of stuff to us while we were over there.

She’s has been doing this ever since the conflict started.
She’s good to go in our book - and the unit was comprised of MP’s!
Well that proves you have a comprehension problem.
I’ve sent lots of cards and a few boxes of supplies to addresses from anysolder.com. We often get nice notes back, so I know they’re getting to the intended recipient.
Thanks tax-chick!
Ditto that.
I have a stack of Christmas cards in front of me with Christmas music CDs to go out - I do it every year and often get notes back, ocassionally email.
AnySoldier.com is a great resource.
Use it and let the troops know the cockroaches (Barry supporters) haven’t completely taken over - that there’s some of us humans left in the country..
The CD’s are a great idea! I need to get going on Thanksgiving and Christmas cards.
I have been sending stuff to an airman in Afghanastan. I used anyairman.com
Its all legit.
ahh, sorry, I wasn’t exactly paying attention.
How about project Rudolf:

My wife and I usually pack up a box each for anysoldier (one for men and one for women) instead of giving each other Christmas gifts. We always get a thank you note back.
She’s trying to do a good thing and wanted advice. You’d rather she spent all that money and it went to no one? I think the vanities that were meant to be limited are the ones like what gun do I buy, my cat is ill, I need new tires on my car, what windows should I buy....Vanities to help our soldiers should always be okay.
Vanities to help our soldiers should always be okay.
Second the motion. All in favor?
If she wants to advertise, then just say so, but if you want to help military personal give to the USO.
Thank you JimRed!
Thanks leapfrog & JimRed!!! I appreciate the support!
Thanks for reminding us of Anysoldiers. I am putting together a box now.
