Now is the time for all men and women of goodwill to commit to praying for the president elect. God is still in control. Maybe he has humbled us. Maybe he has decided that we are too proud, too selfish, too...whatever.
Yes, it's going to be hard, but this is a good test of our character. Will we respond with hatred, bitterness, and despair, or with the eternal hope that our God is in control?
We have a choice. If you don't think that God can use a man like Obama, then your God is much too small. Remember - God's timetable, not ours.
I hope to see prayers for Obama's safety. His children don't deserve to lose their father.

I disagree with just about everything he stands for except perhaps his college bowl stance on ESPN the other night and young men wearing their pants too low...other than that, nothing. I just absolutely disagree with my fellow conservatives who's knee-jerk reaction is hostility and lock and load. There may come a time for that, but we're not even close at this time.
Spend some time reading Psalms. It is OK to ask for God to judge between a believer and the unrighteous.

You are correct. God’s Word tells us to pray for him. Who knows, Saul of Tarsus was a persecutor of the Church and the Lord converted him into his greatest evangelist and theologian, who under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote:
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timohty 2:1-4
Most scholars believe Nero, who brutally persecuted Christians, was the Emperor when this was written.
We need to submit to God and pray for the president-elect, and all our leaders that we might live peaceble lives.
Pray that he would be saved, that God would open his eyes about the evils of abortion, make him understand that Israel is our only friend in the Mid East and that she must be defended, and that Socialism will only spread the poverty around.
Perhaps the Lord will convert Obama, or at least make him into a Jimmy Carter instead of a Chavez or Stalin.
If he persecutes us we should still pray for him (Matthew 5:44) and rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is our reward in Heaven (Matthew 5:11-12)
Even if Obama IS the Antichrist (not sure he is, but he certainly demonstrates how easily the real one will deceive most people), the Lord will defeat him, in the end.
Almighty God still sits on His throne and commands the Universe.

Well-said. We are all Americans and we need to stick together, no matter what the future holds. Yes, the Bible commands us to pray for our enemies. Pray even harder for our Nation.
It makes me glad I don't have any grandchildren. I had thought that I'd be dead before this country went totally down the tubes, but I was wrong. At least I still have memories of a time when America was once a great nation. They can never take that away from me.

Again, I have to differ in this conclusion that God plays a role in punishing up WITH the election of Barack Obama. It may well be a Hell of our own making.
Abortion and hedonism will slouch even more liberal in attitudes and legality in this country with the election of Mr. Obama. It'll make those problems worse, not better.
What troubles me is that the rest of the world is waking up to the failings of socialism. conservatives are holding ground in Germany, France, England, and Canada. Maybe not conservatives in the US mold, but then there are no parallels to the American system in this world.
Barack's message of making "Americans do with less" and taking us down a peg DOES play well with those around the world, then again, they don't have our best interests at heart. And they take pride in our downfall at their own loss. We aid the world. Financially and with our blood, and with our technology. And they don't want to see what it is about our system, that while not perfect, seems to foster such generosity, sacrifice, and innovation.

I believe God greatly honors and rewards our obedience in doing things we really don’t want to do.
He is your enemy, you will realize this after time.
His goal will be the utter humiliation of the US around the world. Domestically, he will attempt to bring out economy to collapse, but it is strong enough to survive.
