Exploratory Procedure
The Word of God is living and powerful, . . . a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
I have a friend who recently underwent a laryngoscopy. I winced as he explained how his doctor took a camera with a light on the end and stuck it down his throat to try to find the cause of his pain.
It reminded me that Gods Word is like a laryngoscopy. It invades the unseen areas of our lives, exposing the diseased and damaged spiritual tissue that troubles us. If youre wincing at the thought of how uncomfortable this divine procedure might be, consider Jesus words: Everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed (John 3:20). Internal intrusions may be uncomfortable, but do you really want the disease?
Welcoming Gods Word to penetrate the deep, dark places of our hearts is the only way to find true healing and the spiritual health we long for. Believe me, the procedure will be thorough. As the writer of Hebrews assures, Gods Word is sharper than any two-edged sword (4:12)piercing all the way through the external stuff of our lives, all the way down to our thoughts, intentions, and motives.
So what are you waiting for? With Gods Word you dont need an appointment. The divine Surgeon is ready when you are!
Ever present, truest Friend,
Ever near Thine aid to lend,
Guide us as we search the Word,
Make it both our shield and sword. Anon.

Good Morning Mayor and thankyou for the ODB....timely for me. I have been praying this prayer often lately. "Search me Oh God ".....
We are all going to need the " Salve of God's Healing" in large portions over the next few months of transition into this godless administration that will now be ours.....
Decided this morning I need a few days of " God's Salve" over my soul to heal lots of deep wounds. Polly

Good morning, Rus. Thank you for ODB this morning.
With God's guidance, we will get thru the next 4 years.
I pray for God's intervention to help our country get on the right path.

Doughnut Day (Didn't we just celebrate this?)

Guy Fawkes Night is an annual celebration on the foiling of
the Gunpowder Plot of the 5th of November 1605
in which a number of Catholic conspirators,
including Guy Fawkes, attempted to blow up the Houses
of Parliament in London, England.

Thank you both. I needed something pretty and easy and soft and lovely this morning.
Your graphic and the poem reminded me there are eternal truths that are unchanged and will forever remain unchanged. Your post this morning was a gift. It lifted my spirit.
To: The Mayor
Thank you, Rus, for the Daily Bread.
To: Mama_Bear

Thank you, Lori.
After a rough night, I also needed something pretty and EASY this morning.
After getting the Holiday post ready, I went to bed.
Reading the FR threads or watching TV last night was not good for my stomach.
Have a good Wednesday.

She was so sure that McCain was going to win because we didnt think he would be good for our country. I am trying to understand this statement, but can't grasp it.
To: La Enchiladita
LOL
I messed that sentence up royally. It should have read ....
"She was so sure that McCain was going to win because we didnt think Zero would be good for our country."
She is learning about our political system the hard way.
Everyone must be taking the day off to lick wounds. It is really slow today.
Glad that you took time to come by.
Pray for our troops and our country
