Rain in Philly could alter World Series schedule

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)—Rain in Philadelphia’s forecast this weekend could alter the World Series schedule—and pitching plans for both teams.

Game 3 between the Tampa Bay Rays and Phillies is slated for Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park, but there is a 70 percent chance of rain in Philadelphia that day, according to weather.com.

Baseball spokesman Pat Courtney said if the game is postponed, it would be pushed back to Sunday and the teams would lose a scheduled off day Tuesday between Games 5 and 6, if they’re necessary. Game 4 would be slated for Monday and Game 5 for Tuesday.

"Good game last night, IMO."

Great game last night. That is good baseball as it should be. Good pitching, some hits, some strategy.

I just hope some of you can keep up until the end of the game tonight. Lots of you went to sleep and there were few here.

There is only one difference for the outcome. Home Runs. It showed last night. It still could go either way.

tough to say--I'm a Red Sox fan and normally would cheer for AL team but I could cheer for Phils too. I have been in Philly and to their ballpark, etc. Phils--only champ. in their history was in '80; more losses than any other sports team TB--first time AL Champs, first time world champs?

As BostonDirtDogs points out, 2 ex-Sox managers are around: Jimy Williams and Don Zimmer

ole Zimmer..I remember after Pedro head chucked Zimmer on the ground they did an interview with Bill the Spaceman and he said something like “I’m proud of Pedro..it is really hard to grab a bowling ball by it’s ears”

Since I’m a long time, die hard Met fan, the Phillies are not for me. NO WAY!

Even growing up a Red Sox fanatic (teen years at the beach with my portable radio on and caught up with Ted Williams and Jim Britt -—— while girlfriends are doing something silly like flirting with the guys), and seeing the Rays overpower the Sox, I still can’t go for the Phillies. Any Met fan would understand.

There is a bit of a NY/Phil rivalry I guess (Giants/Eagles,
Mets/Phils etc); I know Fox Sports Radio’s JT The Brick, a huge Yankee fan, is NOT cheering for the Phillies.

Red Sox fans tend to cheer for the Mets because we like it
when we look at the standings and see one NY team is doing
well...and it ISN’T the Yankees (who might not be doing as well, like w/ this yr)

the home plate ump absolutely has no business making that appeal after calling a strikeout. that needs to be looked at and that ump should not work the series again. idiot.
