I just voted early!
vanity

Posted on 10/20/2008 12:06:31 PM PDT by tamu95_mom

This is my first post ever, so forgive me if it is posted incorrectly.

I live in Austin, TX and today is the first day of early voting. I just voted and was really disheartened to see lots of Obama bumper stickers in the parking lot, and none for McCain. I am really worried that there will be a huge turnout for Obama, and I am praying for our country that the McCain side will be mobilized enough to come out and vote. I know we have the numbers to win the election, I just hope that people are motivated enough to vote!

Also, when I was in line, I saw someone with an Obama t-shirt on. I pulled aside a pollworker and verified that this is not allowed. She went and talked with the head person in charge and they had him turn the t-shirt inside out. The problem was that you could see the Obama logo quite plainly through the white t-shirt, so turning it inside out did nothing. Not a super a big deal, but it shows the ignorance of the Obama voter, and the inability of the polling place to control this type of "campaigning."

You’re in Texas. Please. If McCain can’t win Texas, we might as well all go to the moon. He will. Chill out.

Well, it IS Austin...a notorious liberal enclave. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of Obama voters in that area.

Thats disappointing that the Obama shirt went undetected by the poll watchers. I’m signed up to be a poll-watcher this election and I am going to take my job very seriously.

This is my first presidential election that I can vote in and I’m very excited! A lot of my fellow college aged friends are all revved up about this election and their opportunity to make a difference in the polls for once. I’m confident all of these young GOP’s will show up... not so confident about the college Obama supporters who are so confident that Obama will win in a landslide that they probably won’t bother spending the money on gas to get to the polls.

Welcome to the forum

I have heard that Obama’s real problem in Florida is that in South Florida, land of Democrats, he not only does not have the support of Cuban-Americans, but he also is disliked by the Jewish community. Without overwhelming numbers in the southern part of the state, I don’t see how he can win the rest of it. I’m across the border, in Savannah, so what do I know?! But, what do you think?

Obummy just spoke in Tampa. He's pushing "early voting" so hard, so urgently, so repetitiously that it's a tipoff in my estimation.

If the economy starts improving (and there was a bit of good news today in the economic indicators) he wants all the folks who are in a rage over the economy to vote quick, for obvious reasons.

Plus, it may be a forlorn hope of mine, but perhaps there will be some bombshells coming out on the Messiah very soon.....maybe some will be squibs, maybe something will be nuclear......either way he wants his votes in the bag before his magic spell and protective armor wears thin as we approach election day.

Here in California, it is not a good idea to vote by mail.

The Secretary of State, in the past, has decided to stop counting absentee votes if an issue or candidate has already been decided by a large enough percentage.

Always vote in person, it is much harder for them to cheat that way and you make sure your vote is counted.

My copy of the Constitution says that we vote on the first Tuesday in November.

I’ve voted already, and suggest anyone who can to do early voting, as the voter places may be “dangerous places” during voting day.

That'll be quite a collectors item in the Obama administration.

OK, you voted early. Now get out there and VOTE OFTEN! We don’t want those ACORNS falling out of the trees on election day to make a difference.

To put them in their yards, or the trash heap?

It’s easier to commit vote fraud with the early cast ballots.

It really is better to vote on election day, if you want to make sure your vote is secure.

Having visited Austin ... it’d still get my vote.

Austin is the little commune in central Texas where we ship all the fruitcakes from the rest of the state. Its like Alcatraz for Texan hippies. We let them have their little piece of land in Austin, and if the hippies try to stink up the rest of the state ... we shoot them.

Nah! They will be fine, folks. Just go and vote!

There will be people, like me, who will be on-site monitoring the places.

I stand 6’4” and 250 lbs. I have arranged for buddies of mine, also big guys, to be posted at other polling places.

No problem folks, we’ve got you covered — go and vote proudly!

Don’t let the left intimidate you — ever!

They are wimpy little cowards and do more threatening than anything else.

Fight them Republicans!
