America’s future.
Welcome to Obama Nation!
hot as hell in the summer, but are easy to transport and better than nothing.
Of course, once the Gov’t gets involved, these containers, which shipping lines buy for $5,000 (depending on price of steel), will cost the Gov’t $100,000.
Looks better than the Con-ex (sorry about spelling) I stayed in for 2 days in Kosovo until they could get me BOQ.
I’m interested in using one of these shipping containers as underground storage and storm cellar. Does anyone know sources & locations that sell used ones and cost range?
Under an Obama Presidentship you can get one as your entitlement if your not a taxpayer. So look at the brightside quit your job today and go on welfare. Then you to can be given a piece of the AmeriKa pie. In Chicago where the Messiah will begin the role out they will stack them 10 high and call them Condo’s Obama style.
Obama is for the The New United Socialist State of Amerikar of TNUSSA
I would gladly live in a shipping container! It would be a huge upgrade in my living conditions. I’m in the Army, in Germany. I have about 50-60 sq. ft. to myself (mostly my bed and most of my stuff piled in boxes) - and a roommate, too. By regulation, I am supposed to have no less than 90 sq. ft. to myself. But whatever. Now, if I was married (with no children), I’d have about 1000 sq. ft. (that’s no joke). Hey, if I was on deployment, I wouldn’t mind such conditions. But what I describe is permanent living conditions. Add on to that, I am trained in a military intelligence specialty. But the best I can do here is equipment maintenance. Equipment, as in weapons and Humvees. Not MI equipment. Equipment that will never get used for real. That gets real old after a couple years. When that day comes next year, when I permanently leave Germany, it will be one of the happiest days of my life.
We wouldn’t be in this housing mess if someone thought of this long time ago.
These would better be put to use as jail cells. Or melted down and made into robotic farm and factory workers so we don't get so many containers from China, or Mexicans filling our jails, schools, and hospitals.
They should be cheap.
They come here full of Chinese crap, but there’s nothing to send back.
So they sit, idle and empty.
If you are near a major port, like just about anywhere in NJ, or Philadelphia, or LA, there will be people that are selling them.
Prices range from about $1000-1500 on up, plus delivery charges.
They are usually graded for condition in some fashion. Note that you want to buy the ones that are no longer good enough to meet the tough marine standards - they will still be serviceable for other duty, just not good enough to bear up under tough sea conditions.
No conex. Actually a shipping container (half length) that holds two beds, two desks and pure misery. Not to be confused with the wonderously luxurious quonset (at least by comparison)
No matter...soon enough a Marxist will come along and scream, “Down with McShipping Containers!”
Hmmmmmmm! Give me some more of that Kool-aid!
