Dick Morris heaping praise. He said he has not seen someone with her communication skills and ability to relate since Reagan!

I am not impressed with BS politics, but you certainly seem to be if you think Biden connected. Palin has the heart of a Ronald Reagan. She communicates to people on a conceptual level and doesn’t need to use BS.

Exactly. This is the pinhead that normally shoots off his mouth without engaging his brain, but tonight he was pointed, effective and in control. He mopped the floor with Sarah and she knew it. Several times you could sense her panic as she hesitated to answer or couldn’t extricate herself from her memorized lines citing her homespun-ness and her executive management of Alaska or her Maverick status - many times that had nothing to do with the question at hand. I can only hope her looks work for her the way that Nixon’s five o’clock shadow worked against him.

I teach and judge debate. Palin won this clearly. I expected a career insider like Biden to mop up the floor with an outsider like Palin.

This just goes to show than Obama/Biden are not actually “elites,” but merely “elitists.”

“But by points, she never called him on his lies - big mistake.”

I don’t agree. Biden was attributing things to McCain that went back years in some cases. No reasonable person would expect her to know what position McCain took on issues as far back as Bosnia and some of the tax claims Biden was making.

Those lies will be aired out at least on talk radio and other alternatives in the next few days. Biden had enough mistakes/lies to merit many truth checks.

I’m told that Sarah Palin turned in a solid but not stellar performance.

Well, I'd put her halfway in between. Call it "smashing".

If she were a three-term Senator or had been Governor of New York for a term and a half, it would have been a solid win on points, but not spectacular.

But for someone who was plucked from the governor's chair of Alaska a month ago, and who has had one hand tied behind her back by the Bush/McCain dunderheads coaching her, this was a phenomenal performance.

Overall, I'd give her an A-minus, when the Left was hoping for a D or F.

I’m beginning to wonder if McCain himself has a hand in this scandal somewhere.

Or maybe he doesn’t want to lose his “friends” in the Senate if he doesn’t win.

The thing that really gets me is this.

Biden has been around alooong time. Within minutes of the Debates end, we know that Biden LIED about 10 (or more) points he made against John McCain and Governor Palin.

He was using those LIES to make points against Governor Palin, someone completely new to the National Spotlight.

With all that going for him, Biden still didn't make a dent.
Now the only question remains, will the Biden LIES be exposed by the Drive By Media tomorrow?

Hey, thanks for your tag line...I always wondered where we got this “right-left” idiom.

I’m not impressed with BS either, but if you’re entranced with Sarah to the point that you can’t be objective, your the one living in a dream world. Sarah might connect emotionally, but she lost this debate in points and objective fact.

Biden was shaky too many times. Perhaps he was worrying that she was going to bring up all the ties that Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, etc. had to Franklin Raines and the corrupt Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Leadership and how they deliberately blocked the Bush administration’s regulators from implementing the desired regulations which would have stopped the subprime and credit swap derivative crises.

I’ve watched all the videos of the Democrats at committee hearings a few years ago blocking the regulator (OFHEO) and the congressional Republicans from correcting the excessive abusses of the affirmative action lending practices.

I guess that Obama/Biden got off lightly with a moderate ass-kicking.

About time somebody isn’t afraid to say being an American is a joy.

I appreciated the patriotism at the end too.

Now McCain needs to turn her lose all by herself in those battle ground states!

Yes! Get this stupid bailout bill obscenity behind us, then let her hit the road by herself, with massive adoring crowds at every stop, and interviews with local TV stations every day.

And take the gloves off with Rezko, Ayers, Wright, CAC, and ACORN.

We can win this. We WILL win this.

"lost the debate"

She missed some opportunities, but I had it a lot closer. She scored well on energy and foreign affairs something the Dems didn't expect. Biden blathers a lot, and Palin didn't respond well to a number of his lies. But overall pointwise she did all right. Where she really won was presenting herself as a bonafide prez candidate to the public where she succeeded hugely. Buck up pal, she did alright.

Was it just me or did Gwen arrange it so Biden had the last say on most questions?

I didn't get that impression, but even if she had, he was about as engaging as a mildewed dish rag.
