Exactly. This is the pinhead that normally shoots off his mouth without engaging his brain, but tonight he was pointed, effective and in control. He mopped the floor with Sarah and she knew it. Several times you could sense her panic as she hesitated to answer or couldn’t extricate herself from her memorized lines citing her homespun-ness and her executive management of Alaska or her Maverick status - many times that had nothing to do with the question at hand. I can only hope her looks work for her the way that Nixon’s five o’clock shadow worked against him.

Biden was shaky too many times. Perhaps he was worrying that she was going to bring up all the ties that Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, etc. had to Franklin Raines and the corrupt Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Leadership and how they deliberately blocked the Bush administration’s regulators from implementing the desired regulations which would have stopped the subprime and credit swap derivative crises.

I’ve watched all the videos of the Democrats at committee hearings a few years ago blocking the regulator (OFHEO) and the congressional Republicans from correcting the excessive abusses of the affirmative action lending practices.

I guess that Obama/Biden got off lightly with a moderate ass-kicking.

Biden's past career as a lawyer clearly served him well here.

Here's my take on Palin's "connection" to regular old "Joe Six-Pack" America: We get it. Everyone is well-aware of her roots, and IMO, where she came from, and who she is, is an immense credit to her qualifications. Career politicians are the bane of meaningful accomplishments in this country.

BUT -- you flash that style, and throw out those lines ONCE -- as she did at the convention. Now it's time to show she's more than those catch-phrases and cliches and cute eye-winks and tilts of the head and clucks of the tongue. Show us you have a strong grasp of the issues, understanding of the considerable challenges we face, and are well-versed on the particulars of your presidential candidate's plans to fix it.

And it wouldn't hurt to be up-to-snuff on the backstories behind all of these issues in order to point out to the voters, succinctly, articulately, clearly, how we have gotten into this mess, and WHY you present a better alternative.

Focus less on zingers and more on substance. At least, that's my advice -- but judging from the responses on this thread, her style is suitably satisfying, even if her substance is lacking.

"mopped the floor"

I guess I watched a different debate than you did. He won some points because she didn't respond to some of his lies (Fannie Mae), but she scored her enough of her own.

What drug are you on tonight? If Biden remotely looked good it is because he had an intervention to keep him off the sauce.

Obama and Biden are dangerous liars and Governor Palin pointed this out.
