EQ, thank you sharing that incredibly heartbreaking, touching story of you and your dear departed buddy. It's difficult for me to read because I have a friend as close to me as Joe was to you. We are both healthy for our age as far as I know, but I often wonder which one of us is going to go first and if the other one will be there when that time comes like you were able to be there for Joe.

Incredibly, he is as far left politically as I am to the right, but it has never affected our friendship. We talk on the phone almost daily or weekly at least. Just like you and Joe, we have been buds since the 2nd grade, and it has lasted all the way until we are both now 55. He is registered to vote in another state or we would cancel out each other's vote in every race in every election.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing that with us and writing it down for the first time. You might want to copy what you wrote and save it.

Hi Bev! I love how well you describe that piece of work with just a few words! Part of the reason I can’t stand to watch/listen to the Arab (thanks for that name for him, till), is because THAT is the VERY BEST the CRAT party has to ‘offer’, and I say if that party can’t do any better than that, the CRAT party should be dissolved and replaced with another party.

Actually, Joe was my neighbor of the past 8 years before he died of his illness back in August. It was my lifelong friend and neighbor, Scott that passed away 10 years ago whose memory is still alive and well. Our school days and our young adult lives were the best of times. Thanks for relating your own personal experience and the kinship you have with your good friend.

You know, it's funny, the saying, 'you had to be there' is really true.

All during Debate 1 the audience was almost completely silent. In fact, the reason that the 'moment' was a moment was because that was the only time during the entire debate that there was an audible reaction -- people laughed when McCain ridiculed Nobama with his 'puhleeese' line. It was so noticeable that witnesses said it was noteworthy, yet you can hardly hear it in the audio of the debate...;-))
