The Hobbit Hole XXXVII - ...Down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed!

Posted on 09/25/2008 6:43:34 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

directly across the street from a scratch-and-dent appliance warehouse.

Excellent! We've gotten almost all our appliances over the years from the Sears Appliance Outlet stores. We found a beautiful double oven, in which the ovens are BOTH convection and conventional, which sold retail for $1500, and got it for $900. It was brand new, but had a little plug chipped out of the top frame of the thing. Because of the height at which it will be placed in the cabinet, no one except those over 6'4" would ever see it, and even then, they'd have to be looking hard for it!

Can't wait for the kitchen remodel, so we can get it installed!

You're gonna have SO much fun!

What we’ve done in three of the past four room projects we’ve taken on is find an item - a painting, a tapestry, something - that we want as our “touchstone” and then pull colors and themes out of that. The Home Depot has a really great scanner that does well with pulling a color off of a picture/whatever. We used that to get in color families last time and then picked colors a few darker or lighter from their suggestions based on our preferences.

We’re really happy with how our bedroom came out, and the nursery is coming along great.

Did you know Steve got a second job at Lowes? He's working 20 hours a week there and we're putting that entire paycheck toward the PT Cruiser. Last month we made two "extra" payments because of our income tax, and as of today we'll have made two extra payments this month because of his job at Lowes!
