I have seen several confusing polls this week regarding McCain's opponent's 'bounce'. I am just ignoring the polls.
I have been listening to Mike Gallagher's replay from yesterday and he has been talking about something that is absolutely extraordinary. Remember last week McCain put out a message of congratulations to his opponent on the day that his opponent gave his "I am the greatest human being that has ever graced the Earth with my presence" speech in front of the styro-foam Greek columns?
What did McCain's opponent do this week? He made an appearance on O'Rielley after months of being asked to appear on the show, but only after demanding it be on the same night of McCain's speech OBVIOUSLY to draw attention from McCain's big night. Mike Gallagher said that some of the Fox News people he talked to said the people who work for McCain's opponent were 'diabolical'. NOTE: There was NEVER any congratulations message to McCain from his opponent after McCain sealed the nomination.

WOW! Interesting to hear that background info. I was struck by the contrast between the 2 candidates’ actions those 2 nights.

I think that this may have back fired on Obama and one reason why McCain's viewing figures for his speech were higher. People tuned in for Obama on ORiley and then decided to stay and listen to McCain could well be one of the worst mistakes of the Obama campaign.
