Premiers Thur. Sept. 25 @ 8PM ET/PT
18 new contestants will compete for the $1 million prize in the jungles of the equatorial African nation of Gabon.
Who will be the sole Survivor?
Need a couple of more weeks to blow away more of the chaff and get to the wheat.
I think a lot of the “regulars” are so heated up about the coming election that they’re not taking time to relax and hang with the Survivor thread.
Hang in there Jill, I look forward to this thread and the weekly show. Just a couple of the vices I let rule me.
Oh, there’s been dumber. (The Australian Outback survivors running out of rice, the Maraamu tribe voting out Hunter, the Morgan tribe at the Panamanian village, etc.)
People always feel this way at the beginning of every season. We don’t really know the contestants yet, so it’s hard to root for anyone or connect to the show at this point. But things will get more interesting once we get to know the contestants better.
Thanks for doing all this Jill.
I’m hoping that GC will take the walk of shame tonight. He irritates me. He’s had his face time on the show so my guess is that he’s going home tonight. [fingers crossed]
What’s up? Why no ping today?
SURVIVOR PING!
New Fang Tribe (Red Buffs): Ace, Crystal, GC, Kelly, Ken, Matty, Sugar
New Kota Tribe (Yellow Buffs): Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Dan, Marcus, Randy, Susie
Losers: Michelle, Gillian, Paloma, Jacquie
Episode 4 title: "This Camp Is Cursed"
The Fang tribe gets up close and personal with nature when an elephant visits their camp. GC goes missing...right before a challenge. After a grueling fifteen days with sparse supplies of food, both tribes engage in a close race that results in a sweet taste of victory for one. After winning reward, one tribe makes a surprising decision on who to send to Exile.
Overwhelming hunger and homesickness puts one Castaways entire alliance in jeopardy. One of the strongest bonds in the game finds itself on shaky ground after a frustrating performance in an intense Immunity Challenge. Snooping pays off for a group of Castaways when they find the hidden immunity idol in their tribemates belongings.
Reward Challenge: The contestants launch pieces of fruit at a net, while the opposing tribe tries to block them.
Immunity Challenge: The contestants throw giant wicker balls down a hill, while the opposing tribe tries to block the balls with shields. The blockers are blindfolded.
Spoilers (highlight to see):
Reward challenge winner: Kota
Immunity challenge winner: Kota
Exiled: Ace
Voted Off: Kelly
Back after the show with the recap.
Fun Survivor Fact: Jonny Failplay holds the record for most votes received at a single Tribal Council, with 9.
Sorry. I have to wait until the spoiler sites post their picks.
“Related video” is priceless.
From what Jacquie said, it seems very likely that Kelly (and also Paloma) were recruited to be on the show, rather than applying, going by their lack of fighting spirit and not really wanting to be there. Of course, it’s possible that Jacquie’s exaggerating due to her dislike of Kelly.
At least Jacquie and Michelle were strong competitors, whether or not they were recruited. I’ve said it before...Michelle should not have gone first.
I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s what on this season. i find it strange that I’m pulling for Sugar early on. She’s the only one stepping beyond what I expected. And no one else seems to be doing anything.
Sugar is so stupid. They are playing for a MILLION DOLLARS!!! When will someone find the idol, NOT tell a soul, HIDE it near camp and use it just for themselves. Has Sugar not seen previous seasons when people had their bags looked through??? Guess she will always be a waitress.
I can’t believe they did not vote for Sugar.
Apparently she’s a lot smarter than the others.
Weird frakin season.
Looks like from the preview for next week she considers giving it to Ace. Stoopid. He is just using her.
I know. Yet she seems to always end up on top.
You got your wish!
gad, what a bunch of losers ... couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to get rid of the idol. Bet the final 7 are all from Kota.
I agree. They should have voted for Sugar. Best case scenario - she plays the idol, GC is gone, and so is the idol. Worst case - she doesn’t play the idol and gets voted off, the idol is put back on Exile Island, and they’re stuck with GC for three more days. They could have lived with that - GC had basically checked out, but it’s not like Sugar was a strong competitor or a challenge powerhouse.
Funniest moment of the show = Randy fakes out Ace at the immunity challenge, Sugar just stands there and says nothing, and Ace gets fooled.
yeah, that was fun to see. maybe Ace was confused since Randy and Sugar sound so much alike.
Doesn't second highest vote total get voted out if the idol is played? She made it clear at tribal council that she knew that they knew. How could they be sure that Ace and Sugar didn't vote for one of them? They didn't have GC since he voted for the ditz.
