As I understand it, her ex-BIL was assigned to her security detail, and as the former relationship had been an unpleasant one, and the guy not the nicest character around, she wanted him off the detail. The particulars of way she handled it escape me, but reading the account I saw no problem.

Mr. Wooten is the ex bil.

Mr. Wooten told investigators he tested a Taser stun gun on the boy at his request but never threatened the Palins. An internal police investigation substantiated the stun-gun incident and some other charges but threw out most of the rest. Mr. Wooten was suspended for five days in 2006.

My closest neighbors are from Alaska - going back next month - here for only a year with his job. She says the guy she fired was very respected. Palin gave him the order to fire her former B-I-L and he refused so she fired him for disobeying her direct order. All chain of command stuff. Maybe not the best way to have handled it but was within the law.

My neighbor says Sarah Palin is AMAZING and she will vote for her with full confidence. Says she is smart, direct and well informed - a quick study who will make an excellent VP and President when her time comes.

Thanks for the story highlights. I’m certain the drive by media will try to inflate and skew it as much as possible, all the while sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting “la-la-la!” about all of Ding Dong’s highly questionable dealings and associations.

We are back at approx 9200 feet, going to spend the night on one of the sites we looked at. There seems to be a front passing through as is cooler today, still need sweatshirt and rain is expected. We’ve been turning the heat pumps on to take the chill off of the mornings but may need to run them during the night.

Anyway, our longer treks toward our next destination have been postponed for a day or so.
