Pass the word for me...it looks like I have an infected computer.....and I don't know if I may get back here for awhile.

Someone or something just turned off this thing remotely....and then I discovered a new item on my screensaver page....and now it is denying me access to various web sites.

It has changed my home page on me. I need to get this thing to a pro.

I've been using RegCure.com for a couple of years now or more.

It is not supposed to be the best, but it has worked very well for me on my last 2 computers. I would not even consider McAffee or Norton or any of the other big advertised names.

I had an internet failure on the other two laptops, no-one can get in touch with me. It's amazing what happens when you unplug a router. I'm not working all weekend. I'll plug the router back in Monday morning. After I put my flag out.

Thanks...I have been mulling over buying a laptop...this may have pushed me to go make the purchase.

I will take it to the geeks at the local Radio Shack on Tuesday....they are good.

If you use RatShack.... Ask about scratch/dent or refurbished laptops. They can get on the computer or phone and find out about them. I bought my last one from the RatShack outlet store here (home city for Tandy, of course) for $550, and got a printer with it. It is a Compaq worth about $900, just for the laptop.

You also get a full warranty.

I have bought several for myself and literally dozens when I was Operations Director for the wireless company.

In Andalusia, AL, down in Covington County, on Three Notch Street ( or whatever, I can’t remember) there is a house that had jewish ownership during WWII. The rumor I heard was that he had a few secret strong rooms built as well as one or two escape tunnels, just in case the Nazis invaded via Pennsacola/Destin Florida and made their way north.

I didn’t get to see the inside of the house, but the outside sure looked nice, as if the owner could afford to be that eccentric.

I am expecting to see a professional convention as opposed to the scripted theatrical production that was last week. (I know, I know. The RNC is scripted, too) But the contrast between that theatrical rock concert on Thursday night and people who are ready to govern and direct should be direct, obvious and emphasized. JMHO.
