It's called "practical use". We did the hook on a stick when we were kids. If we hadn't had hooks, we probably would have dismantled a barbed wire fence.

Watch little kids....they learn without our input.

Or watch bears scoop up fish...They're much more efficient than a dude with a pole.

I think that you may be mistaken partly anyway.

Children are first and foremost observers. The constantly watch and listen to their elders try to mimic and make sense of what they do.

They then take what they have learned and try to put it to their purposes, make mistakes and learn.
