It was from the bites. It wasn’t a clean, medical amputation, so the remainder of the leg suffered for a while. He should be done with antibiotics and antifungal soon, too. Then he can have sand for a burrow again!

Thanks! The one I was thinking of was in B&W, and I think it preceded Gahan Wilson by quite a few years.
Still, I like Gahan Wilson! His mind is almost as warped as mine. He just makes money with his!

I remember a weird comic with amputee frogs seeking their revenge. It might even have been called “Weird Comics”.
