She came with that name - she’s a secondhand cat, as all our cats have been. I found her under the bed, and she came out and purred, called me several rude names, and bit my hand. Wednesday and I are soul sisters :-).

Tom just brought me the snake.

"I had generic raisin bran again."

You too? I have a theory about why the generic brand has more vitamin supplements listed than the name brand, but that idea wouldn't fit the theme of dead rats this morning.

Isn't generic raisin brain what coffee drinkers go through before they get their caffeine fix?

That's my present condition; I am breakfasted, but not yet fully caffeinated.

However, to be technically accurate, that's oatmeal brain.

I always have coffee first.

I just did penance for snickering at marginal humor and drooling over James Morrison by cutting the little byos’ toenails. I’ve had eight babies, including a posterior breech delivery without anesthesia, with less fuss and trauma than ensued in this exercise.

Morning. I think. I think space aliens came down during the night when I was trying to sleep and replaaced my brain with mint jelly. Or chocolate pudding. *groan*

Unnngh. Either of those will make a mess on your keyboard!

I have to take Bill to church for some kind of outdoor activity involving the confirmation class. It is unclear to me what the relevance to the Sacrament is, but it’s a nice day and he’ll get to hang out with his friends from Scouts.

You had a cat named Horus! Was he Egyptian? My Horus is an Egyptian Mau, hence the name. He is way fat for a Mau; they are usually skinny. He is getting a drink from the fountain my son made (not for cat purposes, if Max saw it he would “psst” Horus).

Not Egyptian, no. He had black fur, but the undercoat was white, and extremely fine.

His littermate (which I also had) was Isis. She wasn’t nearly as unique as Horus was, but they were both regal and had large ears. They were too sweet to separate, so I kept them both.

My daughter still has the Mom...no-name. She is black, like Horus was, but has lost all her teeth and does nothing but sleep and yell for food. Of course, her yell is barely audible....poor ol’ thing. While the kittens died “early”, this ol’ gal is still hanging on. She must be close to 20, now.

"I just did penance for snickering at marginal humor ..."

Nobody did marginal humor like Pierre de Fermat. Mathematicians have been doing penance ever since.

*sigh*

You lost me at “Mathmeticians.”
No “marginal humor” here. I don’t get the equation. Please don’t try to ‘splain it, because it will only result in more confusion for me.

I always need to remind myself that it is in error confuse the spelling of indiscreet and indiscrete (= not separated into parts), which sound similar. Indiscreet is the more common word in general use and means “not tactful or able to keep a secret.” Indiscrete is a much rarer formal or technical word meaning “not consisting of separate parts.”

Beautiful, isn’t he? That is James Morrison, the actor. (Not to be confused with a singer by the same name, who is not cute, in my middle-aged opinion.)

M. de Fermat looks like his teeth hurt. Math has that effect on me, too.
