Galveston report:

Weird.

Clear sky, no wind. Usually we have a steady gulf breeze, tonight nothing. Aren’t we supposed to be throwing a storm or something?

It’s the age old “calm before the storm.” You are experiencing the sinking air before the...ahem...fun begins.

Careful with the parties, Mom used to use the Richelieu as an example of what not to do in the face of a storm.

I concur with the others. Not a good time to be separated from your family. Book a hotel room on the company's dime. Enjoy your seminar and your family.

Share the stories about how the Canucks react to their first hurricane. They'll be canceling their gig in the next town tomorrow afternoon. Absolutely take photos.

Make sure your car isn’t in an underground parking lot.

Good idea, except, it’s not the getting there, it’s the getting home....and I cannot afford Marriott hotel right now and company will not pay.

Also, I don’t wanna leave my home and not be able to get back to shoot the looters....hhahaha

Thanks for the update.

Would it be rude to say 1. I’d rather not be at work in downtown Houston for landfall and I’m really really sick of the local news coverage?

I’m glad wasn’t the only one that slept through it. I woke up and called the supervisor to see if we had to go to work.

Turn on the tv sweetie, you’ll get enough drama to last till the family gathering at Christmas after the cocktails!

The erratic movement is presumably due to reformation of the center.

Lovely. Still looks like it is heading right for us. (rme)

But sheesh, we need the rain.

LOL

Robt, did you know you can make a fly spin on it’s back in a circle if you hit it with enough raid. Highly entertaining. :-)

Tropical Storm Edouard
(pronunciation: ed-WAHRD) has turned to the east of us.
We put extra lines on the boat. Prayers for the boat were said. Went to our humble aboard and will ride it out. You be safe too my friends to the East of us looks like I said last night you will get this one.

The weather in Galveston was beautiful today. Me and my family bailed though and headed back north tonight from our week long vacation on the west end. We’ll head back on Wednesday. Hopefully the storm clears out some of the mosquitoes.

I think u are right, this one will go north of the forcast track. Tx/La border, houston/galveston will see little or nothing from this one.

Nobody gets up this early. Right?

Sitrep Galveston:

Clear and calm. Nice offshore lightshow, but it’s too far out to hear the thunder.

Proceeding now to caffination procedure stage-1.
