Yeah, kiddo, I’ve heard that old chunky dunkin’ joke. All these jokes that come through email always make fun of women and not men, don’t they?
Hi Amy! I'm a stranger just passing through. It's summer time. Camp Meeting starts Friday. I'm going in circles and pulling my hair out. You know the routine. I'm not complaining though. I count my blessings, that I am healthy and able to do so much. Life is not boring for sure. Did I tell you that I won "Yard of the Month?" I should still have my sign out front when MB comes. (if she comes).
Oh yeah, he does a little. He could do a little Elvis also!! That was when he was in one of those cute moods....
When does MamaBear’s vacation start?
I’m hoping she doesn’t cancel her plans ... she is really looking forward to this trip.
I love your Camp Meeting; wish I could be there.
Ah, the ole outhouse. We had those when I was a kid. Had to outrun the rooster every time I had to go there. Mean rooster. Would you believe that when we moved to WV in 92 and I took a four-church circuit, that three of the four churches had outhouses?
Original plan was for her to be here on the 28th. I too hope they don’t postpone it. I am so looking forward to it.
You have FR mail.:)
Marissa and I are going to take a swim pool break; it is still too hot at 106 so we may not stay out very long.
No one is a ‘stranger’ here, Nan! Love hearing your stories - please keep sharing. OK?
((((((((((((((((((WVNAN)))))))))))))))))))))))))
I haven’t listened yet but I thought it was Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Did someone teach me another wrong thing~~LOL~~
I listened and how cute it was. Yes, someone taught me Itsy Bitsy...poor me!
As a young mother.
Pssssst!!
:-)
Loved it yorkie and do remember. Wonder what young people think of those songs? Bet they make all kinds of fun of it.
I tried to find “itsy bitsy spider’. Came up with this one. I think I may have spelled it wrong (”Ittsy”)
There goes another brain _ _ _ _. LOL!!
Funny how those memories come rushing back....kinda bittersweet, isn’t it?
We went to Gatlinburg in the Smokies for a little honeymoon. I think he had a 10 day leave.
Thank you dear Nan for that interesting information. I never knew what rain barrels were for since I hadn’t seen one but I knew they existed. People today complain but what would we do if we had experienced what people back then had to do.
All of us had some hard times in the past but ya know, we never complained because thats the way it was. We accepted what was!! I was talking to someone the other day about riding in cars before air-conditioning. We didn’t miss it because we didn’t know what it was like. We were happy as two peas in a pod!
Thanks Amy, sounds good to me. We’ll all be singing that song when we close our eyes tonight.
Yeah that was a little odd for 92. Isn’t it wonderful remembering. Its good for children to experience these things like I at least got to visit my aunt who had an outhouse! She was a wonderful lady, just like her brother, my dad!
Ho hum, any day now....
