Hi folks,
Im new around here and figured I would say hi. My name is ScoutingDad, and I've really never been into politics until the last few years. Im married and have two great sons. I'm an Army veteran and work in Law Enforcement. I just wanted to say Hi and Thank all of you, for standing up for Conservative principles. Ill be seeing you around here. Thanks.

Good luck with your boys - it’s an ever-changing world to try to shepherd those kids through these days. Ours are grown and gone thank goodness!

FRee Republic was a life saver for me when the Twin Towers went down and all the news we could get was CNN International down in South America.
Lots of great folks and some really cranky ones at time especially those who don't drink their morning prune juice.

Things are going well DownUnder, but busy. Like you, I’ve been up to my neck: it’s Annual Plan time, and I keep procrastinating. Now I’ve got a ton of stuff to write over the next couple days, rather than nicely spread out like it was a couple weeks ago...
(My own fault — procrastination is a self-inflicted injury that is always punished as such...)
We’re well into winter now: yesterday afternoon we had a ten-minute explosion of hailstones the size of golf-balls (no exaggeration) in the jungles where I live. Tore up the vegetation something shocking. My beret only covers one ear, so my left ear got nailed a few times before I managed to take cover. Now it is still quite tender, but the swelling has gone down some.
Weather in Auckland is like that: it lasts ten minutes then it changes completely.
It must be sliding nicely into summer up Baltimore way?
