“Just damn. Can you imagine (I cant) what must have gone through his mind on the way down?”
I don’t want to... That’s a long drop, and the horror must have been incredible once he realized what had happened. Knowing what would happen to him when he finally hit - what a nightmare.

“A few minutes to make your peace with God hopefully. God rest his soul.”
I hope so. I know I've done some stupid things in my life and right after said “how dumb can I be?” Fortunately none have them have been TOO tragic.

As they alway told us, it’s not the long fall that kills you but the sudden stop at the end.
Note. I have jumped out of perfectly good airplanes but that was a long time ago.

Before my dad passed away from the effects of Alzheimer’s disease, he could still say “Geronimo” and “Stand in the door”. He was really proud of being Airborne.
I was talking to a friend yesterday about how his dad and my dad were the people or men who got up every day, went to work without complaint and kept the wheels of the country and life turning. “Ordinary” guys who just did it and made the world work.
Everyday, “ordinary” guys and gals, get up, go to work, keep the lights on, the phones working and food on the table. Heros all.

I saw a picture of the house on the news. There was quite a lot of damage to the roof, not to mention the poor parachute-less soul. An acquaintance of an acquaintance ( you know how that goes...) saw the guy hit the house, and his head came off.

Anyone know if he was suicidal? From another news story, "An employee at the skydiving club says the 29-year-old had been asking to observe a skydiving flight for some time."

I remember a similar story from the late 80s. This guy was a veteran jumper and had been really excited about filming a couples first jump. His last words, as recorded on his video equipment; “Oh no!”

Didn’t think of that. I suppose that was a definite possibility... As you said - a heck of a way to go regardless.
