Oh, Jaycee, it's Always Upsetting to me to be without Electricity; you Handled it with a Good Attitude, which I will Try to Learn from. I'm Glad you had Flashlights and Candles. My Neighbor Told me that Many, Many Years Ago, the Electricity would Go Off Occasionally in the Area I Live in Now and be Off for Up to 2 Weeks; I would be Wanting to Freep So Badly I'd Probably Go Ape, Lol! (Although, Come to Think of it, they didn't have Computers then!) : )

A Cure For Futility

I once heard interviews with survivors from World War II. The soldiers recalled how they spent a particular day. One sat in a foxhole; once or twice, a German tank drove by and he shot at it. Others played cards and frittered away the time. A few got involved in furious firefights. Mostly, the day passed like any other. Later, they learned they had just participated in one of the largest, most decisive engagements of the war, the Battle of the Bulge. It didn’t feel decisive at the time because none had the big picture.

Great victories are won when ordinary people execute their assigned tasks.

When followers of Ignatius (1491–1556) endured periods of futility, he always prescribed the same cure: “In times of desolation we must never make a change, but stand firm and constant in the resolutions and determination in which we were the day before the desolations.” Spiritual battles must be fought with the very weapons hardest to wield at the time: prayer, meditation, self-examination, and repentance.

Perhaps you sense you’re in a spiritual rut. Stay at your assigned task! Obedience to God—and only obedience—offers the way out of our futility.

If you sense your faith is unraveling, go back to where you dropped the thread of obedience.

It was so nice out this morning but it will be in the 90s this afternoon.
Glad you are getting a break in your heat wave.

We are getting a break from the oppressive humidity, it is supposed to be 77 today but drier. After heavy thunderstorms over the past couple days finally some relief.

It took forever for spring/summer to get here but it came over night with hot and humid weather. I hate to complain so early, so I’m not. : )

I hope it lasts. It's so nice to have the windows open and the curtains blowing from a nice breeze. I saw your temps have been high for quite a while now. I hope you get a break soon too!

Thankful for this break. I know what you mean. We wait after the cold weather and wait but then it gets hot too fast.

False alarm. LOL Nope, it wasn't a hummingbird. It was an insect. I forget the true name for it but we call it a Diamond Needle. See ya later! :)
