Excellent link, Meg. I didn't know Encyclopedia Britannica has gone online and presumably is competing with wikipedia.org.

D-DAY~~6TH OF JUNE
~I Stand Here Now~
I stand here now Amongst ... brave men With whom ... I've stood before The last time ... when we landed On June 6th of '44 Back then ... we were all young men Eighteen or little more Their lives ... cut short ... that morning On this distant ... windswept shore I stand here now ... and wonder What would they ... have become Had they survived ... that morning Their lives ... allowed full run One thing ... I know ... for certain Of which ... there is ... no doubt These brave young men My pals ... from then Would be ... old White haired ... with wrinkled brow Just like me ... As I stand here ... now.
~Tony Chapman~

Thank you for sharing this wonderful graphic and your poem, “In Memory of Steve, Alton and Jack” with Amy’s Place.
Condolences on your loss of two cousins and a son. Your poem in a great memorial to them.
Thank you again for your contributions.

Meg, I was on the Brittanica website looking for goldfinches and guess what they had them in black and white.....no color whatsoever. I was flabbergasted!
My two bathing beauty granddaughters are up at the pool swimming! They both are so busy they don’t have a lot of extra time to play!
