My old neighbor used to pile ice on hers to get them to bloom..I think hers were the only ones I’ve seen in Texas.

“DON’T QUIT”
Author Unknown
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with the twists and turns,
AS everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up through the pace seems slow.
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worse,
that you must not quit.

Ya know, He does Bless us very often but sadly, we often overlook His hand in the blessings.

I have been away a couple of days doing my duties! Sorta got behind and still am not finished.
“Don’t quit” has a lot of meaning for me. After my hubby passed away, I thought the world had ended...felt like everything was ‘just over’ and I would never be happy again. I have a best friend from our early school days (8th grade) and she lives about 100 miles away. She drove over a couple of months after he passed away and she brought me that little plaque with “Don’t Quit” and I placed it on the left of my cooktop so it could remind me everyday to keep fighting. It is still there and I have learned “we can be happy again”. Its amazing how God just helps us heal so we can laugh and be normal again. Those wonderful memories are embedded in our mind for always and forever, but we do learn life is worthwhile! Thank ya’ll for reminding me again.

That is so sweet, Dita.
I have missed ya’ll but have accomplished a lot, even though there’s a pain in my back and a crick in my neck~~LOL~~but its true! Went to bed with my bed buddy last night....didn’t know if I needed it worse on the back or the neck!

Linked Hearts
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11
Each new day, it seems, brings new ways our family sees the body of Christ at work. One demonstration of the fellowship of Christians sits on my desk as I write.
Its a basket overflowing with letters from people I have never met. Since the time Our Daily Bread readers first learned of the car accident that ushered our daughter Melissa into heaven 6 years ago, weve received hundreds of messages from our brothers and sisters in the faith.
Theyve said things such as: I grieve with you, my brother, and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I weep at your loss. I hurt with you. Many recommended books to read. Others sent poems or articles of comfort and hope. Some shared their own stories of bereavement as we discovered new partners on the path of pain. They demonstrate the principle of love among the family of God thats commanded in 1 John 4:11.
Each of those gracious notes is different from the others, but they contain a common thread: Because of our shared faith in Christ, I find my heart joined to the hearts of the writers of these messages.
Hearts linked by Jesus create a chain of love that can encourage even the most grieving heart.
Bearing peoples heavy burdens,
Shouldering their pain and grief,
Shows the love of Christ to others,
Bringing them His sure relief. Sper

Lets Talk!
Come in and let your mind run free. Well talk of many things.
Of shoes, and ships, or cabbages, whatever discussion brings.
Youll note we have a patriotic flair, we thank our men who serve,
And thank the ladies who are out there too. We marvel at their nerve.
Nature gets our attention too, both ours and that around,
We keep our eyes up to the skies, with both feet on the ground.
We like to stretch our Dreamworld, so it can hold the most,
But first lets welcome all our guests, and Thank You to the host!

Beautiful Bible reading this morning. Thank you Mr. Mayor for out daily visit with God!
It is so hot here this morning and getting hotter. Be careful working on that deck in this heat! My brother in Georgia was 98 yesterday and says the days following will be the same! It was 87 here yesterday and is already 77 at 11:30 am...
