Good evening, Yorkie.

The poem was by NicknamedBob and I messed up and left out a line. :(

Your poem by James Whitcomb Riley is wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I’m trying to check the thread while watching the Bulldogs play the Bulldogs.

I am really proud of our Fresno State UnderDogs.

Amy, I couldn’t help wondering when you posted that last night, that the Bulldogs were playing the Bulldogs. I got it that you were talking about college baseball, but could you fill me in on which college the *other* Bulldogs are from? And they play the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska... is that right?

I was skimming through some of the posts and this picture you posted struck me, dita!

I hope it didn't hurt too much when it "struck" you...Hehe. I don't have that image of the cats from the back either, although I have seen it.

How about that "green scene" that I posted in #2053...? I thought you might be able to do something nice with that.

Cardhu, they do this in Ireland also, and probably other European countries. It’s neat to see a tradition being kept up.

LOL! Lori still had it and sent to me in FR mail - she wasn't sure if it was the one I was thinking of. As it turns out, I didn't remember it "exactly" as I thought I did. It wasn't the backsides of ALL 3 of those cats - and I had also forgotten dansangel was in it - thought it was before she joined us as a hostess.

I love it and when I saw it was in the state of Washington - wellllll, that's the one that Diver and I are working on together! It's beautiful!! And I saved it. :)

Thank you very much, Jaycee.
The kitty in the cup was for you, reminded me of something you posted during the past week.
Today was a mixed bag, had some weird stuff in it, but turned out better towards evening.

That is hilarious, Billie!! Too much.
We seem sedate these days compared to that, lol.
Also, very cool that you snagged the WA state scene; it was taken at an un-named arboretum in the ESE part of the state.

Darn ... we lost tonight.

The Fresno State Bulldogs, the cinderella team, played the Georgia Bulldogs tonight in Omaha, Nebraska.

Since we lost tonight, we have to win tomorrow to have a chance. Whichever team wins 2 of 3 games is the National College Baseball Champions. We have already made the record books by being the lowest ranked team to ever make it to the Championship Games.

Even if we lose tomorrow, this team has gone further than anyone ever imagined they would go. Fresno is proud of them.

I guess they’re showing it on one of the ESPN channels?
I don’t have cable anyway, just wondering.
Go Fresno State Bulldogs!!!

Underdogs are my favorite kinds of teams.

I must share my greatfulness with all my FRiends, here.

Today, I took a good friend to Flagstaff for an emergency doctor’s appointment. It turned out she had a huge hematoma from surgery she had two weeks ago, and the doc had to remove it. She should do better very soon.

The ride home proved to be a very close call. The canyon is two lanes only, and goes from 4,500 feet altitude to 7,600 feet in just 25 miles. There are cliffs and thousand foot drops, with constant sharp curves and switch-backs. There is no where to pull over. Elk and deer are known to jump right onto the ‘highway’, in front of oncoming cars, and it is a ride to take with extreme caution.

About two thirds down, as I rounded a switch-back, a large truck crossed the double yellow, and was heading straight for my car. It was either be hit head-on, or run into the cliff on my right. I threw the steering wheel to the right, and low and behold, there was a rare but welcome ditch and a couple feet of off-road space. I hit the ditch and the rare couple feet of ‘unused’ sand and gravel; the truck missed me by probably an inch, and a head-on crash was averted.

With my heart in my throat - I realized it’s not my time yet. I am so thankful that I can still come to Amy’s Place, and read all the great posts, click on to the wonderful Power Point Presentations, see all the beautiful pictures and graphics, and savor the stories and poetry.

Not one of us knows when our time will come - and we should consider being greatful for every moment we have on this beautiful earth. Hugs to each and every one of you! ~yorkie

God blessed you for sure, today.
I don’t know what I would have felt, as much as I love that drive. I’m glad you’re here this evening to share the story...

Oh My Gosh, Yorkie.

God was certainly your co-pilot today. I am so thankful that you and your friend were not injured.

Did the truck driver stop to make sure you were okay?

No - the truck driver just kept driving recklessly, I guess. I was too shocked to get the license plate number. Probably on drugs or drunk.

Did I say - I DETEST driving up (or down) that canyon?

We’ve driven it a couple of times; I think my son was driving. Two lanes are miserable without the curves.
