All Out Of Teenagers
Your children [shall be] like olive plants all around your table. Psalm 128:3
For 18 years, our home was blessed by the presence of teenagers. But now that our youngest is in his 20s, my wife and I are all out of teenagers.
Those years were full of challenges and demands that sometimes zapped our strength and took all of our mental and emotional reserves. Along the way, we navigated the rough seas of the sudden death of one of our four teens. We also enjoyed the thrills of success and struggled through the turmoil of rebellion. As I look back on our experiment in parenting, we learned some valuable lessons:
Some teens follow life in a straight line, while others zig-zag along lifes pathway. Its best to zig with them in love and with courage.
All teens need unconditional love because they live in a conditional world.
A love of Gods Word is vital to successfully transferring faith from one generation to the next.
Teens need to develop a relationship with Christ that is based not on rules but on a deep love of Jesus.
Has God placed any young people in your life? Whatever their age, love them unconditionally. Help them learn to love Gods Word. Show them how to have a deep love for Jesus. And hold on!
Parents, give your children guidance
And instruction from Gods Word;
Then with wisdom and compassion
Teach them how to love the Lord. Sper

Beauty Lasts
There is a place in memory, where beauty takes a stand,
Forever to remain there, in that enchanted land.
An image of unagingness, perenially bright,
These memories are shared between the lover and his love,
And nothing of them changes, though the heavens wheel above.
She always will be youthful, with a smile sweet and demure,
And he remembers beauty, and it stays forever pure.
Though fashions have their changes, and her hair is now of white,
And his vision has surrendered to a constant one of night,
She still remains for him the alabastered gem,
And her beauty lasts forever, in a world of only them.

Hi Amy, thank you for posting the beautiful picture at Amy’s Place and oh, the poetry is wonderful. Lots of talent there!
To: JustAmy
Friday, I witnessed the kindness of strangers. A couple of men asked if they could help. One even checked the battery cables for me. A young lady parked next to us and asked if we wanted to sit in her car with the A/C running. We thanked her but said that AAA should be there within half an hour. She came out of the store 10 minutes later with bottles of water. She would not let us pay her anything. One of my friends had gone into the store and purchased cups of ice. We were tired because the heat saps your energy but we were very lucky. The drive home was 25 miles of country road. Have a Beautiful Sunday. Oh Amy this was precious! I was really bogged down yesterday, both because of the horrible heat we were having in Los Angeles ( three cheers for a cooler day today)
and going through some tough family times with a granddaughter in the hospital.
Kindness from our neighbor's and friends , do more to encourage us that one would believe!!
Have a GREAT MONDAY everyone...
