Sorry that I missed you today.

I’m trying to catch before posting tomorrow’s Good Morning Ping. :)

I’m leaving about 7:30 and will not be back until about 2:00. Driving my mini van to take kids on a field trip to Valley Children’s Hospital. Prissy Missy is really excited ... she wanted to check out what I planned to wear. I don’t think she trusts my taste. LOL

Cardi, thank you for that Power Point Presentation of “To Be A Woman”. With each picture, I separately saw diligence, strength, determination, heart-felt sorrow, a mother’s love, a teacher, a baker, a provider, and most of all - in every picture, I saw love.

The Slate

To teach someone else is to be a scribewright,
Awakening knowledge and childish delight.
Forming the letters, and making the sounds
And later we’ll learn about verbs and pronouns.

For now we’ll attend to this ancient rite,
We’ll practice, and scribble, and then we’ll recite.
The learning is fun as a new thing can be,
A secret code leading to literacy.

There’s patience required when learning to write,
Tiny fingers discover chalk puts up a fight.
The teacher must also control her sweet charm,
For the sake of the student who’s attached to her arm.

There’s only one way to get everthing right,
Every sound has a symbol we can hear at its sight,
And soon the young maiden will craft her own thought,
And she’ll thank her dear teacher with what she’s been taught.
