Welcome to Amy’s Place.

I completely understand about raising another child at an age when we should be doing senior things. (Whatever that is.)

WE are raising my greatniece. She is eight. Her mother is not a responsible adult and cannot care for her.

Eight and nine year olds can keep you jumping. Thursday was the last day of school. I was looking forward to it more than Marissa was.

Now I’m wondering about keeping her busy this summer. She starts 2 weeks of swim lessons on the 24th. Now I need to think of something for the rest of July. We will be starting our vacation the Aug. 8th and will get home just before school starts on the 20th.

Does your 17 yo help out a lot with the grandson?

.

Yes, Dekker does write from a Christian perspective, but his work is definitely not your standard Christian writing. He explores the outer reaches of spirituality and deals with demons and angels, dream worlds, psychological mysteries. I used to say that I didn't read fiction because after so many years of reading, I knew the plot and the climax by the third chapter, so there was no point in reading it. I read Thr3e and did not figure out the ending until I was almost through the book. The problem I have with his books is that I can't put them down. I don't have that kind of time. I'm used to reading on the fly, or in the bathroom. LOL.

I enjoyed your short stories. Your poem, "Before There Was Dirt" held some clues that we have read some of the same works in the past.

Well, I am off to bed. Busy day tomorrow and it's late. Thank you again for your help. I will let you know how your poem goes over.

Great thoughts from the great Red Skelton; we were blessed to have patriotic entertainers back in the day. Goodnight, gals. Sleep well and have a most blessed and beautiful Lord's Day.
