I sure hate to hear this! I know how aggravating it gets when a 'certain' few make it really hard to be objective and just have fun on chat threads.
I hope you change your mind though. Won't be the same without you!
As you may not know, the only reason I watch Nascar at all is because of a very honorable young man whom I adore as a person. Why you ask? Read my profile page.

Tried to check your profile
all I get is
Nobody by that name. 8-P
Oh wait, I was looking at WestCoastLITTLEGal .. duh. :-]
Life is one speedbump after another and then your t’ars blow out in the end and ya flop across the finish line last.
That’s OK , ya get the last shot at the buffet table then too. :-}
I wasn't on the Richmond thread last week so I'm not familiar with what happened and haven't had time to read the thread since coming home. We were visiting my husband's parents and got to watch part of the race and I was rooting for Jr. to win (JG is my driver of choice but right now I just want him to make the top 12 in the chase).
Continue to be passionate about your driver. That is what makes the sport so great. And while JG is my favorite, I can honestly say I like all the drivers in some form for their talents and/or personalities - even Kyle Busch (ducking).
I look forward to reading the various posts and information on the racing threads. While I can't always participate I can go back after a race and read and I always learn something I didn't know before. The regular posters here are great. This is the first place I came for information when my husband and I were given tickets to Daytona and I wasn't disappointed.
So please reconsider. You are one poster who gives great information and has a good heart. And remember, I have your back.
P.S. Thanks for another great thread.
A lovely thread head, Gal.
I do not like hearing that you are not going to be on the thread any more. Some of us (me included) should have stepped up stronger to nip that crap last week, in Nork’s absence.
You do as you wish, but, if you do leave, I will miss you. Hope you will stay. It just ain’t right to let classless a-holes mess things up for those of us who are here for the good time that we always have.
fwiw
I did make a subdued reply - -I shoulda / coulda done more. But, it was the end of the thread and I just picked up on it Sunday when grok pinged me to notify that I had high score.
Anyhow, there are more important things that car racin' anyhow. Many of my FRiends over here have already chimed in to
For that, we are truly grateful
Yup. I'm a died in the wool Stewart fan. I know exactly what you're talking about... and in the end, they call him Champion for whatever reason. They call The Old Man Champion, and Gordon and even Wallace. And if anyone cares to call any one of these guys a jerk, it's fine with me. In my book, the stage in New York answers all the silly scrabbles and misgivings along the way. Yeppers, Smoke's my choice, but I try not to wear it. Well, except for my orange underoos, and my Home Depot flight jacket. Naw, tell me my driver stinks, and I'll agree with you, and likely offer to buy you a drink. How about some nice orange juice?
Lighting a candle here. We’ll be praying and thinking of you and the missus tomorrow.
I remember listening to races we could hear on the radio in my youth. I've rooted for Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty and my all time fav, Million Dollar Bill. I am at this time pulling for Clint Boywer. Hey, I'm from Kansas also, what can I say? Drivers have driven and left the track to younger blood year after year. As long as there are humans on the planet, we will be fulfilling our competitive urges any way we can.
Good fortune too you WCG.
No, I was not in that Prodigy group. I think I got online in maybe 96. And I think I found FR from the Drudge.
Thanks to all who have kindly encouraged the wife and me for our upcoming situation. I’ll throw this in, off topic.
She was remarking to me the other day how absolutely remarkable it is to think about the level of complex social structure that is necessary for this type of high tech medical work to be done. I mean, they do this looking at video screens!!
And think of the education, experimentation, research, risk taking innovation, of all sorts, that is required to bring us the absolute best health care on the planet.
What a great country this is. How easy it is to take it for granted.
” Then when KB punted Jr he was really POd. Said he was gonna hurt someone one day with bonehead moves like that.
Man I’ve been sayin stuff like that about Lil Busch for a year and a half!!! I take my scanner to the track and I’ve heard the announcers ,while on break say pretty much the same thing. Lil Busch is the latest incarnation of “Swervin Ernie Irvin”
I have met Mark before and he is a class act. If you haven’t been to his dealership/museum in Batesville, Arkansas you should go. The weekend of Easter every year he has a GTG with some other drivers for autographs and Q&A sessions. Plus he will personally autograph any car purchased.
I was not real happy to see him leave Roush, but he has earned the right to do anything he wants and I still pull for him when he is driving.
West Coast Gal.........thanks for hosting the thread. Sorry you are fed up with the overzealous racing fanatics.
Racing is the only sport where every team plays on the same field, and every team has their own fans in the stands. When I go to the races I always scan the crowd around my seats to see where the potential trouble spots and friendly fans are. I find it amazing that there are not major fights with all the diversity represented.
But as in any large crowd, there are always a few idiots and a few of them spill over into FR occasionally as well.
Happy Racing!
This needs to be repeated.........no more manners....lots of smartarse replies.
WestCoastGal....Best to you!
JJ is a good kid. I live just outside of El Cajon in a little community called Lakeside, my next door neighbor went to highschool with JJ.
I remember Ernie he was fast and wild just like Lil Busch, it wasn’t until all the graybeards ( Petty, Gant, Earnhardt and some other ) swent and had a “talkin too” with Ernie that he got the message. Maybe it’s time for Mark , Jeff, Burton and some of the elder drivers go and talk to him about his driving style. I’d hate to see him hurt someone.
My son says Ernie had his “moments” in Eureka also. I think he was from Modesto?
