Well, it’s clean sand...fresh from the sand and aggregate company down by the river by my house.

But my kids would probably go nuts at the beach. They’ve never been. At least my youngest hasn’t ever been. My oldest and I used to go 2-3 times a week when we lived in Texas but that was before he was two years old.

My parents have mentioned something about renting a beach house this coming summer...so this may be the year!

A friend of our family owns one in San Diego, but I’ve only been there once, four years ago. I haven’t even been to the beach at all in 7 years despite living 45 minutes from it.

IMHO, they'd like a fresh-water beach even more. We have them around the great lakes here.

In 1979 my parents moved us to a house within a short walk of Lake Huron, with a nice swimmer's beach a bit further off...a nice bike ride for a young teenager as I was at the time. My sister and I would be there 3 or 4 days a week during summers.

I live nearer to Lake Michigan now, about 45 minutes to the nearest public beach. Not as nice I think, but I've been in the ocean and don't like salt water.

Ah man... they gotta see the ocean. It’s something you just can’t miss.
