Oh, did I leave something out?
Here's the deal...I think I mentioned that there's been a trend of veteran cast members opting out this year. I didn't do the show when we did this storyline five years ago. But several who did said they would play certain roles again, but did not want to weave through the whole show in multiple parts. So, one of my best friends is reprising his role as Herod, but not as Father Christmas in an earlier scene. It's a five minute scene, with Not Valerie and that's it. Time wise rehearsals are limited up until the week before the show. And I'll still be able to leave as planned when Luke is done with the kid's portion.
So, there's that...
Bottom line is, this is what I ~do~. The whole family is doing it. All my friends at church are doing it. But this is a very limited part.
And I have to say...it's a pretty big ego trip when someone calls and says "we need you for this role."...I'm just sayin'...
If I live to regret this, I'll be here for your abuse.
So it’s on, on with the show!
Sigh.
Oh well.
Break a leg.
The show must go on! :-)
Moderation in all things..
You seem to have struck a happy medium with your present role in the play. Well done, my friend, well done.
Sounds like the part was made for you! And since it doesn’t involve THAT much time or effort on your part, it seems like a good compromise.
