The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

So CNN is saying it's Palin. What a cool life story she has! She hunted moose with her Dad, and likes mooseburgers!!

We can't wait for her to be in a debate with Biden talking about abortion. Her last child is Down's Syndrome, and she said even after she had pre-natal testing showing that, she never even considered abortion.

This campaign is gonna be FUN!! Can't wait to see what the PUMAs have to say about this choice!

I guess it's a sign of how little trust I have in McCain that I won't believe it until I see that he has said it himself, in front of cameras, heh.

I really hope it's her, though.

This will get interesting...

It should be fun to see her debate Biden.

Got popcorn? ;-)

Honestly, I’m kind of astounded. She’s absolutely across-the-board conservative, no? I figured he’d pick someone on the moderate side.

Not Valerie just called and said “now I have a reason to vote.”

Palin knocked it out of the park with her nod to Ferraro and Clinton.

I need a bumper sticker.

Heh, I'm actually considering giving money to the McCain campaign... excuse me, the McCain/Palin campaign. ;-)

I've got the song "Barracuda" by Heart stuck in my head. (For those unfamiliar with it, it's one of the two songs played during the "Attack of the Forest Creatures" scene in the movie Shrek the Third.)

Loved her invitation to the 18 million Clinton voters left out in the cold to support the McCain-Palin ticket.

The MSM's knickers are in a twist about this!

You can always tell when something is good for Republicans and bad for Democrats by how sad and upset the media newsreaders are. :-)

Hi folks! My ‘puter is in the shop til Tuesday, but I had to go to the library to check in on this great day! The barracuda is the best candidate on a national ticket since Reagan! The only other conservative since then was Quayle, and he had his own problems.

I’m thinking we may finally have our own Thatcher.

Try this on for size: Palin/Jindal 2012. Gives me a nice warm fuzzy, it does. We wants it.

A fun little tidbit: Sarah Palin graduated from the Univ of Idaho in 1987. This means that she was there when I was at WSU. Wazzu and the U of I all partied together in those days in Moscow, ID because the drinking age was 19 there.

My church was also full of U of I students.

There’s no way to ever know of course, but it’s interesting and not completely unlikely that we may have met. Who knows? Maybe I even asked her to dance? :-) It is a small world, after all.

Now... we need for her to step up to the plate and hit some long ones out of the park. Hopefully she can live up to the hype that’s surrounding her. I hope so. So far, so good. She was just so darn ~likeable~ in the speech today.

I just ordered a couple of "McCain/Palin" buttons and I [gasp!] donated some money. I couldn't resist. There's a fresh new energy happening here. It's about d@mn time.

Ramius - you got that right; We’re in, too. Finally got our reason for believ’n that it just might go our way. We’re in, yes indeed.

Her speech was terrific! I think she’s gonna kick Biden’s a$$ in their one and only debate. All he’d have to do is flash that stupid smile patronizingly her way and I think she’ll eviscerate him. I’m sure he thinks he’s used to ‘strong’ women, but he ain’t seen nothin yet! I loved the videos that showed her with the soldiers in the Middle East, shooting the rifles they use. And the fact that her parents had to change their plans to go caribou hunting, when they learned she was being chosen was just priceless!

Agreed! We're actually going to give some money to the McCain/Palin campaign, when I wasn't even certain I was going to vote for McCain, before.

Interesting anecdotes: We left work early today to take Rose to a doctor's appointment. All of the receptionists in the doctor's office were talking about McCain picking Palin. After we left, we stopped at a restaurant for an early dinner, and the bartender was talking (loudly) to the waitresses and customers about McCain picking Palin. Amazing!

Nobody was talking about Obama's speech, heh heh.

*snort* Yeah, McCain's pick kind of sucked the oxygen out of the media coverage of Obama's speech.

As the Guiness guys say, "BRILLIANT!"

it never ceases to amaze me how otherwise intelligent people I know can have so much rabid, incoherent hatred that turns them into drooling braindead morons...

I did the same. Ordered stickers and a button, and sent some cash.

Honestly, this is the first time I haven't felt bummed about this election since "macaca."
