Why am I thinking of the Clintons?
Ha! I can see the resemblance!
Instead of plane crashes there are lots of cases of food poisoning.
Those two kids aren’t long for this world...
Hey, it’s Friday! Woot!
And it’s payday...
....better look at my account balance quick!
Well, today ecurbh and I get to be Fair Parents.
We’ll be with Jesse today while she’s at the fair. She has to be there all the time when the fair is open, and Bob and Kay can’t be there today, so we’ve been recruited. :~)
I’m sure we’ll take lots of pictures. She has Charlie the Alpaca there again of course, and she’s entered some artwork and a couple of fleeces.
She’ll have posted hours that she’s on herdsmanship and has to be in the barn to check on food and water and clean up the stalls and the aisleways for her group and answer questions, but the rest of the time she can walk around.
Kay said the good news for us is the kids have to do all the work, we’re not even allowed to clean stalls or do any of the work. :~)
So there's that! ;-)
Take pictures! If that needed saying....
Also a co-worker of Jen's came over and we did some work on the trigger of his S&W M&P. Nice gun but the pull left some to be desired. The worst part was a lot of over travel. Armed with a ‘how to’ description from the net. we ground down part of the sear and improved it a lot. Unfortunately since it was not swapping parts the improvement in overtravel was made at the expense of a little more pretravel. Oh well, good trade.
That vastly increased the amount of ‘real’ gunsmithing I have done. Will have to see how they shoot. It is nice to leave a gun tangibly better to shoot than when you started.
They were finding the overtravel was really spreading their groups around. Those light composite guns really twitch when there is a lot of that. Yeah that is fixable by just getting better at you smooth squeeze. The trick of balancing something on the front sight was really helping. But with the test coming up next week they needed all the help they could get.
Now that sounds like a whole lot of fun!!
Caramel apples....funnel cake...pork sandwiches...roasted ears of corn...cotton candy!!
Mmmmm!
I love the fair.
Well, the good news too is our county fair is so small you could walk it in about 15 minutes. Not like the state fair in Puyallup that’s huge.
Course... that might be the bad news too. It might be a really long day. “So you wanna go look at the chickens again?”
Speaking of chickens...our meat chickens are all processed and in the fridge. The whole setup worked like a charm. Two cages, ten birds per cage. Each cage was moved several times a day and the area where they were was sprayed with a hose.
The back yard is spotlessly clean. You could seriously never tell we ever had twenty chickens back there for over two months. And the chickens got access to fresh grass.
We ended up with 15 of the 20. Four died of heat, one was sick and we culled it. But the rest were extremely healthy.
Mmm, now I’m hungry!
Ha! I always am.
Last night Steve was worried because all I wanted for supper was popcorn. Toward the end of his life, Steve’s dad would only eat popcorn and he brought it up. I told him not to worry.
Then I ate a huge bowl of popcorn, finished off the scraps of pizza Matthew left behind, and then ate a large bowl of ice cream. Heh heh. “Why did I ever worry?” Steve commented.
Hey, you know what? Because of the heat, we put solid frozen 2 liter bottles in with the adult rabbits and bring the babies in. They hang out in a cage in our living room. Last night, while watching ST-TNG, they were just a-frollicking in the cage and I said “What on earth are those bunnies doing?!!”
Joshua said “Let’s launch a probe at them and see.”
Heh.
Your pics make me hungry... mmmm wings...
Heh... those boys...
FYI if you haven’t left yet — I’m hearing that the interstate is partially blocked off and way backed up. Guess I’m taking the long way...
Dang...they weren't kidding. Took me an hour and twenty minutes when it usually takes fifteen on the way in. Hope you guys didn't end up totally stuck...
Mmmmm.... chicken.
