Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Whoa, that’s seriously awesome money.
I’d say I’m in the wrong profession but they pay me to sit in a cube and stare at a screen, I can’t beat that. You actually, well, work.
That does sound good but 2J’s line of work is definitely not for me.
Yep...that’s true. It’s physically difficult and emotionally draining. Many times I’ve come home from work and known for sure that they got their pound of flesh out of me.
It’s still a good job though...I like this hospital where I work. It’s the best place I’ve ever worked.
Well, I’ve ordered the backward compatibility software for Matthew’s XBOX 360 so he can play his Knights of the Old Republic on it...my work here is done. (I’m at the library.) I’m on my way home...Steve will be home before I am!
Oh...I made the BEST chicken and dumplings...with fresh chicken!
:-)
See ya!
I have a sometime-in-the-near-future project I could use some help with. :-\
My mailbox hasn’t really been on right since the whole smash-up fiasco. I think it was just set on top of the nails that were already sticking up and tapped a few times, without them even biting into the wood it’s attached to (there’s a board on the underside of the box itself). When I went to check mail today, it was lying in the ditch. I don’t know how long that’s been the case, but...ugh. Makes me sick, wondering. I set it back up on the board they’re all mounted on, but it’s just kind of sitting there, ready to fall off again.
I’m thinking the right way of doing it would involve power tools. So...I guess I could use some help one of these days
Clare was thrilled to learn that “Soul Caliber”, a game she loved from their old Sega Dreamcast, was now available for the XBox 360. Joseph downloaded it for her this afternoon.
Sure... We can do that prolly tomorrow night, Saturday at the latest.
I don’t think it’s been on the ground long... not last time we checked mail anyway. We wouldn’t have just left it there.
Thank goodness I have a half day today.
Ungh.
Aw jeeze...
Good morning everyone!
Our Wicket is becoming a teenager.
Oh, I didn't figure you woulda. I just know how we all hate going to the mailbox. ;-)
Uh oh...what happen?
Oh nothing... she’s just being bad, climbing screens, annoying the other pets, running around too much at bed time. Normal cat behavior. :~)
We have a call into thevet. I think we’ve held out on Abbycat as long as possible. She’s not eating, not able to get into her box. And it almost looks as if the entire hip is dislocated. This isn’t fair to her.
Luke is going away today, Mrs. on Sunday. The timing is right. So we’re waiting to hear about an appointment.
OK - You’ve gone above and beyond I think, I wouldn’t feel guilty about saying you’ve done all you can.
Sometimes it’s just time.
If there’s any guilt, it’s about not letting her go sooner. I just need to not let Mrs. and Jr. try to convince me to delay it again.
Do they think she’s still got real potential to be happy and comfortable? Or do they just not want to let go? That’s the question I’d pose.
The last vet we talked to was the one who hadn’t seen her. She was suggesting behavior modifications to get her to stop peeing in her bed. We can’t get the other vets to say anything else beyond “we need to see her.” But up until this week, we didn’t have the cash for the visit and I can’t shell out another $200 for x-rays.
But I watched her yesterday. She can no longer drag herself into her litter box, so she’s not eating.
