The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

She thinks there’s nothing planned, but I’ve got reservations for 15 at a Japanese Steak House.

You're a good and loving husband!

For some reason I have “The Anniversary” episode of Fawlty Towers running through my mind.

Does your wife give lessons in that? I could use a little help in that area...

Tell ‘Not Valerie’ Happy Birthday!! When you get to the Japanese Steakhouse, of course, so she won’t know you’ve been thinking about it. ;o)

Our kitten is being a MONSTER this morning. Little kitten teenager. ;~)

I didn't know you had one kitten left. Which one is it? How about monster photos? (As if you needed encouragement.) :)

We kept the kitten we called "The Ewok Kitten". We looked up and one of the star Ewoks was named "Wicket"... So we have named her "Wicket".

Here she is getting to explore outside on a long line, at first.

Okay....midafternoon with the sun on the energy film...

Thesunroom is about 2 degrees cooler than outside. It’s about 94 degrees out. Without the film it would be at or over 100 by now.

This is the kitten with the most spunk and personality, and nobody wanted her? Or you just couldn't let her go?

Ouch. 90 and above is definitely not in the comfort zone.

She’s definitely the sweetest, cuddliest of the kittens, but she wasn’t chosen by anyone... because she’s plainer looking I think than the others. But she’s a cuddler, when she’s not being a monster. We don’t mind that she was the one who went unchosen.

That’s why I’m inside dealing with the biohazard in the fridge. :)

Heh...same here.

I didn’t make it out to mow yet. At this rate, I’m thinkin’ tomorrow morning.

But I did sort through a bunch of boxes and bags, clean the bathroom, cleaned out the fridge, and got a start on laundry. So there’s that.

I probably won’t mow for a while. The lawn might be a bit on the ragged side but it’s not too long: my weeds just don’t have that manicured look. :)
