The silver cart is packed; bows, staves, quivers and arrows.
(and all the assorted camping gear to make life easy). The Tenth Ozark Selfbow Jamboree in Marshall will be commencing shortly. Sal and Ca. John are coming in and they’ll head up with me; will try to find another Ca. fella and let him know that his ride will be late but there none the less. The main attractions commence Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sunday is break down camp and head home, vowing to return again, in July of the following year. Take care all and will be back on line come Sunday afternoon.
Hysterics would’ve ensued had it been me when I was growing up. I have the genetic trait for hysterics, but take great pride in being able to calmly deal with such situations and see the fun and humor in them. Honestly, what was the worst that could happen? A damp carpet?
I’ll take the damp carpet and good memory over what I woulda got any day!
Have a good time!!!
Ok...here’s the deal. I go to radiology at 8am on August 7th. I get injected for my bone scan. I then go to “Neuro-Sensory” and get my EEG. I then go back to radiology and get my MRI, MRA and bone scan.
I suspect g’nad and family knows more about this than I do!
Lol, good thing you tied it correctly, or you both would’ve been *soaked*. I learned that the hard way a few times. (OK, more than a few but who’s counting.)
He chunked it at his brother just now in the back yard.
Aw geez... what an ordeal. At least you’re fairly comfortable in a medical environment... You don’t have to be dragged in kicking and screaming the way I would.
What are they doing these scans for? What are they looking for?
All the same day? Sheesh.
Brain farts.
Heh heh!
No, really...they’re looking for messed up vessels in my brain that might explain why I got blurry vision spontaneously overnight in February. The ophthamologist checked my eye and it was ok. Also, my eye lost that huge chunk of vision in it the other day and that was new. Also, I think they’re looking for a tumor specifically on my pituitary gland in my brain which can be a cause of high blood pressure.
Jeepers. Well. All the best... You’ll be in our prayers. Keep us posted.
I will have you on the Prayer List for that week!
Oh ugh. Ugh ugh ugh.
I just found out that Bob Jones is discontinuing their satellite service after this year. Lovely.
I know some folks don’t care for the format, but we loved it.
They “rent” DVDs...for like a thousand dollars a grade level. The sat was costing us about $600 a year.
Oh, that’s a shame! A thousand bucks a year? Do they understand their market or not?
No kidding.
That means a thousand bucks to “lease” the DVDs for Joshua’s 4th grade and another thousand bucks to lease them for Matthew’s grade, which I don’t know HOW that will work, since he’s not in one particular grade, but like spread out over three!
I need some whiskey.
I just looked into individual subjects and they run $400 each.
Hmm, can you pool with another homeschooler? Or maybe change your plans? Matthew’s in particular... ouch. $400 a subject? Sheesh.
What gets me the most is that now I can’t buy stuff cheap on Ebay! Remember how I used to get things so cheap!!?? Now, you have to buy all the supplies when you “lease” the DVDs...they come together as a set.
Well, I have this last year. Homesat ends in May of ‘09. I’ll have to figure out what I want to do...is it worth it or can I find something comparable?
And leasing it, so you can’t reuse the stuff on the next kid - well, they sure just priced themselves out of the large-homeschool-family market, didn’t they?
My understanding is that you rent the DVDs for 13 months and after 13 months, they charge you for them again.
Well, it is of course their system and they can do whatever they want - but it’s slimy and I’d find a way to avoid giving them your money if I were you.
